Cavalry Leg Damage and Teamhits

I think the Cavalry Leg Damage change was good overall, a needed nerf to Heavy Cavalry but there is one thing I don't like about it.
I usually try to play cavalry as kinda a "mobile hoplite" supporting teammates and such rather than just charging at full speed killing afks. Now though when I try to do that if I say bump an enemy 1v1ing my teammate, often my teammate keeps swinging and it hits my horse.
I don't blame the teammate for this since how can he tell I was gonna charge at that moment and it used to not matter so much since with teamhits being 1/2 damage my horse could take alot of those hits but now 1 or 2 of those teamhits dismounts me if it hits my horses legs. I get dehorsed more by teammates I try to help than by enemies since this change and it's made me stay away from teammates alot lately which imo shouldn't be encouraged.

Post if you agree or not I guess sorry my terrible typing i'm A Bad Poster.

I fully agree, the nerf was good to heavy cav, but I do much the same and pick off people in the back who are fighting teammates, and very often they swing through the now dead corpse with a sword or pike and hit my horses legs for massive crippling damage.. to avoid this you basically have to avoid helping teammates, yet I think cavalry should be encouraged to play in a support role for their melee lines.  Removing the friendly fire leg bonus would give back the incentive to be supportive.

i agree, given that most people playing this game are either autistic or drunk teamhits are incredibly common, and cav does get unfairly hurt by that

The last thing we want is a class that is penalized for helping teammates. What we do want, is less cav trying to rambo and playing a game of free-for-all but when ff can do enormous amounts of damage to your horse, it's kind of hard to justify helping some teammates out.

yeah its one of those double edge patches. The good cav get punished for team play, the bad cav get punished for being nob ends. What to do, what to do.

I onehit plated chargers due to leg damage increase. I three-to-four-punch a plated charger if I hit it in the legs.  2 swipes from any weapon to the legs will kill one. *Just add one more swing for a teammate's horse*
Perfectly balanced, no need to change here. No foreseeable problems here.
I love oneshotting every horse in the game if it is coming at me, teammate or otherwise!

The change has really made it brutal to be 1h cav. One asshole turning around at the last second = one dead horse.

No matter what horse I'm on, when it gets killed it's usually 1-shot. I am doing a hell of a lot better since I switched to Arabian Warhorse though. If I see the guy turning, it gives me a split second to turn in the other direction.

Cavalry leg damage really nerfed the plated charger more than others, due to it's increased size and smaller modeled armor. It made an already expensive and useless horse even more useless.

It doesn't matter whether the horse's legs are armored in the model or not.  All heavy cav takes the extra damage on the majority of the leg bone, not dependent on armor.  In fact, I just hopped on the duel server to make sure this was still the case, and in the process, discovered that you actually can't do a side swing high enough to get the armor reduction unless you're aiming above the horizon.  Horizontal or lower side swings = no armor.

Also, a nice picture of a single stab with no speed bonus hitting an armored area for armor-free damage.

Voted no.  Based on the fact that I have been tked by cav way more than infantry.  Specifically the OP and smoothrich.

greedy cav deserve this dmg, they dont care about teammates, they do so much bump dmg to they own team. so go and try to kill other ppl, dont try to killsteal !
shooting at people from a reachable place as last man standing is not delaying. Even if you're on the other side of the map.

I think the head should be the most vulnerable spot instead of the legs. Gives the people getting rushed by a horse a clear target, and there is a risk/reward factor due to the size of the hurtbox of the head.

The last thing we want is a class that is penalized for helping teammates.

Only help I ever needed from cav is simple bump, just one bump so I can finish the enemy. Sadly, I rarely get that kind of help. Usually it's cav trying to kill enemy shielder by using couched lance or lance thrust. First situation is actually worse because I get tked quite a lot that way and second is also dangerous because cav, trying to out reach the enemy, (non) intentionally bumps me which means I take damage from both bump and hits I take while I'm on the ground, unable to defend myself.

I'm talking about EU servers, of course.

Horses should take damage from running over friendly teammates, teammates should do less damage to friendly horses.
