How is it ironic? Is it sexist to recognize that maybe, women are subject to the same psychological pressures as men? We're human beings all around. Women aren't special or more worthy of protection/defense than men are. To think that they are is the real sexist part. It's a throwback to our instincts. The positive discrimination of women is an integral part of Patriarchy, but it's usually promoted by the same white-knights that would be horrified at the suggestion that they are sexist. Positive discrimination as in acting like women are too weak or dumb to engage on an equal footing with men and need some type of special handicap.
