Originally, the Black Hand was an unnamed band of Nobles, who simply came together in an alliance to fight back against the atrociousness of war. Coming from peaceful cultures, the idea of "rules of engagement" were completely foreign to them. Rules for killing people, to them, is contradictory. By killing, you're breaking one of the most sacred rules. Thus, no rules can apply. They used cunning, subterfuge, and speed to annihilate their enemies before they realized a foe was even present. Taking no prisoners, they crept across Calradia, integrating themselves into various aspects of society until their reputation disallowed such clandestine acts. Eventually, they were noted for the detailed henna designs they wore upon their hands. Outsiders spoke of such designs being worn by thieves, saboteurs and assassins. Dubbed "The Black Hand" by outsiders, the group found themselves less able to integrate into society. Unable to remain a purely clandestine order, they embraced the term "Black Hand". They raised a common banner, and took up direct arms against those who would bring war to the land.
