Misc questions as a HA hybrid

Running a 15/18 non-dedicated (and non-loomed) horse archer 1H build.

1. Currently riding a cheap steppe horse. Although the maneuver is good, I want to be able to outrun enemy heavy cavalry instead of just trying to dodge them all the time.  Since I can't ride an Arabian horse my options are:
Desert Horse - +3 Speed, -1 Maneuver
Courser + 10 Speed, -6 Maneuver
Destrier - Survivability (maybe more useful with a 1H weapon, but still viable for HA?)

Even though maneuver seems to be more valuable for Horse Archers, I see a lot more HAs riding coursers than Desert Horses. Any suggestions?

2. Palfrey - Why does this horse even exist? The rouncey is better in every way except a -1 speed

3. How useful is a couched jousting lance with just 1 wpf?

1: any of the 3 horses you suggested are good, it all depends on your own playing style.
    I have seen HA (hybrad or not) do great on all of them.
2: I have no idea.
3: Not sure, but i guess PS has a benifit (I used a picked up lance and couched some one but did little dmg.)
