The Tale of Bhulaban -- An Ongoing Story

This is the continued accounts of the city of Bhulaban and its involvement in the War between Green and Red faction.

It is the 3rd day or the 3rd Month of our Lord.

The Greens, after strategically leaving Bhulaban, have returned to expel the invading Reds from the city and once again reclaim it. In a long, hard-fought battle by both sides, the Greens eventually prevailed victorious. Prized fighters of the Green faction found it a rough battle to do well on given the three or four small choke-points that Bhulaban holds, and the archers were unable to find good ground to shoot into the city efficiently as well. What worked best for the Greens, this time commanded by leaders of LLJK, were the constant pushes from every side and the ability to keep the Red troops contained inside their perimeters or close to it.

The Reds however, did not go down without a fight whatsoever. Their shield wall tactics in the center of the town were constantly flushing out the attackers, and their ranged dominance from above on rooftop also made work difficult to achieve. Though they fought with two-to-three flags down most of the fight, they held their flags until their armory was just too small to continue equipping their men. This ultimately was their demise at Bhulaban. They did manage to eliminate over 1000 men of the attacking army, but they lost 1800 or so in the process and all the equipment with it.

Both sides were fairly well equipped to start, however, one major issue the Greens faced was their lack of Pikes and long weaponry to reach the Reds' defenses, dug in tight behind their shield walls. This posed a huge problem for most infantry players, as pikes usually do. The Green members able to get their hands on the Pikes started funneling them to the back of the lines so that expert Pikemen could pick them up and continue using them despite their army not coming prepared with them. This worked excellently for most of the battle, though continued scavenging of Pikes became scarce and harder to come by as they slowly dwindled away from the battlefield.


Bhulaban has been the sight of at least four heavy-assaults in the past month. It has passed ownership many times during this War and will most likely continue to do so. Both sides obviously view Bhulaban and its trade routes as a very strategic platform to wage war upon. This will surely be a key fief to possess for either side in their route to victory. Though there are few, if any peasants remaining in Bhulaban, boths sides continue to wage war there and what was once a prosperous town with green soil and farming, is now a famed war-sight with damage and bloodshed about it.

Great fight, was pretty damn even until Hospitallers started losing gear.

I'm surprised we did that well tbh. We had to scrounge for troops at the last minute and had no long-range polearms. Our longest was a MW War Spear :S

You gave us a good runaround with your pikes and shield walls - was a great battle. That is what Strat should be like all the time!

I like Bhulban its a real fucker in every respect. Seems like it should be able to be held easily, and at the same time it looks like you should just be steam rolled by the offence. stupid enigma village!

I was fairly surprised myself. The melee was where we expected to do well, especially with the choke points. With less two handers, I think we could have done much better.

Your archers also did a good job surrounding us and taking the houses on your right, which wasn't terrible, but those tough infantry prevented us from taking it back effectively.

Good fight out there today, Hospi's and friends. Your archers were dead on and your melee formidable. That is a tough village to defend and you still gave us a hell of a fight.

I gave up on fighting and was running arms to the middle of the village. I was yelling on ts, "Protect the cache". It was like gunrunners out there.
