seriously though you should give the more regular players the admin, if they abuse it, take it off them ...
I doubt being "active "ingame means you're worth being an admin. It's just irrelevant.
You have excellent admins that are here one hour every week.
You have trolls that are here at least 4 hours per day. Reward thoses ?
also, it's easy to say :"give admin rights, remove if they abuse it", but do you know how that translates to ?
Ask for candidates specific for siege. One topic, one week chance.
Choose among all thoses people the "suitables" for admin rights. Big discussion.
Send each of them a PM, saying they were found interesting, and would like a confirmation of their participation as an admin, plus a reminder of "what not to do, what to do, as an admin in cRPG".
There, you have admins.
Then, you'll need players, who goes on the forum, who cares about such thing, to write things about the admins : "He's clearly abusing his powers, take a look at the screenshots, etc..."
Then, another big discussion, check the logs, etc...
And meanwhile, suffer the cruelty of the community : "It's the cRPG team wich chose him as an admin, take responsability." or other very supportive messages such as "screw admins".
I just find it very rude to say "just give admin rights, and take them off if it's not okay".
It's not as easy as it sounds. And it's not because someone is always playing that he's suitable for admin rights. AND AND AND, admins are VOLUNTEERS. You can't just tell someone to "be" an admin because he's often online. Being an admin means taking out your own free time, going in spectators for a while to check the behaviors of people that were reported, etc...
Problem still stays : that there's a lack of admins. Maybe it's evident because of the holidays, and the fact that siege always had fewer admins.
I'd take admin abuse any day over the constant active leechers, teamkillers and griefers.
I believe nuffen was playing siege. You reap what you sow, dear community.
