Hope so.

ToxicKilla, I am still waiting for poll results, might be that we change rules a bit for one test edition.

I am thinking about such a cap:

You can buy max. 4 "effective" tickets.

Effective ticket is a ticket that actually participates in drawing.

First ticket costs 5k (in total - 5k)
Second ticket costs 15k (in total - 5k + 10k)
Third ticket costs 30k (in total - 5k + 10k + 15k)
Fourth ticket costs 50k (in total - 5k + 10k + 15k + 20k)

In other words:

If you buy 1 ticket on market, you got 1 effective ticket in Lottery.
If you buy 3 tickets on market, you got 2 effective tickets in Lottery.
If you buy 6 tickets on market, you got 3 effective tickets in Lottery.
If you buy 10 tickets on market, you got 4 effective tickets in Lottery.

I will count how many tickets each character bought. If one bought not an equal amount of tickets required for given amount of effective tickets, it's his problem.

For example, if MrIAmGreedy buys 5 Tickets, he only gets 2 effective tickets in Lottery. Sorry, no refunds. If you want, you still can buy one more ticket to get total of 6 tickets, though. And in effect you will get 3 effective tickets.

I know it is a bit complicated, but this is the only way "rich" people won't get huge advantage over others in the lottery. Sure, five tickets is much bigger chance for winning, but if someone else wins, he gets 45k from your pocket. Funny, isn't it?

Give me your feedback, please. I am not sure if it isn't too complicated.
Also feel free to ask any questions. I might forget about something.

NOTE: The next edition of lottery didn't start yet!

Hey Dravic, not to be rude or anything but that suggestion is just plain stupid. I think you should cap the amount of tickets that can be bought, but making people pay more than 5k for each extra ticket does not make any sense at all.

I mean if someone buys 4 tickets he will have x4 the chance of winning, but he has also payed x4 the amount of gold.

In real lotteries there is no limit for the amount of tickets you can buy, because it does not matter. If there is a total of 10000 tickets in a lottery and one person buys 9999 while another person buys one. The person who buys 9999 will most likely win, but will also not be able to get very much money. And the person who only buys one has the chance of earning x10000 his money, but has a small chance of winning.

If anything the person who buys 9999 tickets should be paying less for each ticket, because he is risking a lot of money for almost no profit, tho I also find that idea stupid

If someone came and decided to buy 10000 tickets in this lottery you are holding then I would be happy, because it is the same thing as if 10000 different people came and bought each their ticket. It would make the lottery more fun for me because I would have the chance of winning more money. Yes the chance of winning is extremely small, high money prizes makes everything fun.

1 ticket per man should be enough, it's a game ffs, lets enjoy awaiting for Lady Luck, don't be greedy assholes, its more enjoyable if you win with only 1 ticket then having bought 20 or 50.
Do you honestly think you have any sort of moral authority, Reyiz? Go genocide some more armenians and deny it ever happened, please, and stay in the middle east.

Meh, I would rather have it be only one instead having to pay extra for the extra tickets.

Mkey guys, i have a suggestion for making drawings as secure as possible :)

-------------------------------------------------------------

When you buy a "ticket", you will automatically get a unique number ( 00-99 ), that is known to you and Dravic:

(click to show/hide)

The last two digits are pretty random :)

* If necessary, i am sure it is possible to control the authenticity of numbers, since all market transactions should be stored on cRPG's "server", if i understand that correctly

-------------------------------------------------------------

A number will be drawn, using one of the national lottery results:

F.ex. UK:

https://www.national-lottery.co.uk/player/lotto/results/results.ftl
(click to show/hide)

Combination of all digits - perfectly random AND publicly verifiable. New results every 3 days. :)
If the sum is over 100 - use the last 2 digits.

-------------------------------------------------------------

So, todays result would be this:

Uk lotto number: 2 - 19 - 22 - 30 - 33 - 41
Sum of all lotto digits:      2+19+22+30+33+41=147
A winning number using the above result: 47

-------------------------------------------------------------

Now i know it looks like a lengthy and complicated process, but in reality, it only takes 1-2 min. It is the most secure and publicly opened way i could think of :) That is just an idea, but it might lead to a more elegant solution :)

EDIT: If the winning number wasn't on anyones ticket - 1 more ticket can be bought. This way, with 10-20 tickets sold every 3 days - there will be a winner at least every 3 weeks :)

Curious?

Sure, I can tell you:

First edition:

16 tickets * 200 gold profit for me = 3.200 gold

Second edition:

24 tickets * 500 gold profit for me = 12.000 gold

Sumed up:

3.200 + 12.000 = 15.200 gold

Profitable? Yes. Stolen? Nope.

You knew from the start that I will get some money.

Oh, and at the moment that money isn't going anywhere, so don't worry.

Back to ideas how to improve Lottery:

I asked about this one some time ago but almost no one gave feedback:

I've got another idea for improvement. Please give me your feedback:

How about making the draw with not only full tickets, but also "blank tickets" -  noone gets anything, the cumulation proceeds to the next edition.
That would look like that:

Numbers:

1. Ticket
2. Blank ticket
3. Ticket
4. Blank ticket
etc.

And would also lead to higher cumulations if noone gets lucky. What do you think?

I like the blank ticket idea, but I don't like the 50% of tickets are blank idea. That would drastically reduce the individual's chance to win. Maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of total tickets are blank?

And yea, if no number wins, adding the sum to the next edition's pool sounds awesome.

That drawing system is too complicated.

I prefer TS + camera/some fraps-like application MUCH more.
