do they get free loom points more so they can put where ever they want?

or are they just unlucky, and they will just lose 3 loom points?

Well, considering that we wanted to remove the whole Japanese stuff i highly doubt we will add more far east gear.
Also i have nothing to do with adding items nor do i decide on that.

Overall i will go with you will have more luck with well made european stuff that fit the theme.

Why are they called strange armor?  Strange short sword and strange sword and strange two handed sword has its japanese name.
