You may also want to consider replacing a native model or something with yours, so you can test it in game and take screenshots.

You can't add sleveeless models to cRPG.
It fucks up the skin in game.
We had that problem with our bashibazouk armors.
We tried it in game and realized that no matter if your character's face skin is black or asian or any other , limbs and other appearing parts of the body looks like it's skin is white .
We had awesome stuff but .. sadly we cant add em :(

No, the left arm/shoulder is usually the more armored one if the armor is asymmetrical..even if a shield is used.  This is true in the examples I've seen anyways.

non-historical, 2h

funny armor, not relevant :)

Both your historical references are jousting armors, for which the lance is always coming from the knight's left side.

Still, you are right that most warriors using 2h weapons used right hand over left, which means the default stance is left foot farther out than right and thus body slightly turned towards the right.

Left side is used for the heavier armour part, the right side the "lighter" is for the weapon arm... Common sense.

quality is bellow average, model is a bit shabby on some parts and texturing isnt done well either,
it seems to be fantasy(ish) armour
as i can see model has arms up to elbows it seems, like that it cannot be properly used in warband, why you ask? simple
warband doesnt put armor model over the body model, it just replaces the body model with another, meaning on example of this armor, there wouldnt be anything bellow elbows

Hello, I'm the chap that made the armor, I'm pleased so many of you seem to like it, it's very encouraging.

This is the first model I've ever made for warband, so I'm very unfamiliar with the engine, it was all sort of touch and go as far as scaling, and what's required to make it work, hence the model only has a half shirt of chain mail, which was all that was in the reference picture I was given. However it wouldn't be that difficult to add cloth sleeves beneath the mail. As for the legs I can not say, I assume boots in warband go up to the knee?

As far as historical accuracy I can't speak for that either, my knowledge of the period is passing at best, and I simply tried to recreate the armor in the reference I was given by my mate. However it seems to me that an armor of this type wouldn't be out of place with a free lance, someone who sort of cobbled together bits of stuff where ever he could find it. I can't say I play the mod much, but that idea seems to fit with C-rpg as well, since the whole point seems to be mixing and matching armor and building the fighter you want.

I'll knock up a variant of the armor with some cloth sleeves and see what you guys think then.

Cheers, and thanks for all the feedback!

Nice to see some fresh ideas.  I'd certainly like to see new body armors appear, but there are a couple of issues.

  • Already brought up -- the arms.  I'd suggest filling the arms out with either maille sleeves or cloth coming from under the maille.
  • The single shoulder looks a little wonky, maybe make it a little more uniform and for both sides. (Is it a pauldron?  I'm dumb.)

Other than that, it'd be nice to wear a felt cap and mail chausses with.

This. Why should one make it even harder to swing your sword by adding additional weight to the sword arm?
The logic of war seems to be that if a belligerent can fight he will fight.

As I've said before, I can't really speak for the design of the armor, having never used, or worn armor I don't know whats effective and whats not. I was simply working from the reference image I was provided by the people I was making the armor for. It was a sort of, armor by design deal, they picked what they wanted, I tried to make it.
I plan on adding cloth sleeves with perhaps some sort of leather bracers now that I know the warband engine requires it, however I'm fairly busy with other matters at the moment, and I'm not sure when I'll get around to it. When I do I'll make a new post and ask Mor to update the pics in his original post.

Thanks again for all the feedback and opinions, it's much appreciated.

The left arm is the shield arm and doesn't need plating to protect it.
Armours used by 2h's would have plate protection on both arms or be completely plated.

Not neccessarily.

Right. Some ingame screenshots look much more convincing and they allow the players to judge properly how it will look like ingame.

Looks pretty bad right now, need some serious work on making the textures look better. Im not very demanding in graphics and such but for some reason crappy looking armour in cRPG really annoys me.
