A respec that you can use once per generation with no xp penalty would be a neat addition. I personaly almost always find myself bored at the half of lvl 30 and would like a change of pace. So the respec would add a bit more fun to the 30-31 process. I imagine that would be its primary purpose, you can use it whenever you wish tho. Only restriciton is that it can only be used once per generation (next one is a normal respec)

Thoughts?

Edit: I vaugley remember this being brought up once in the past. I think it deserves another try

This would be good for players below level 30 but not so good for 31+

I think it would be great. I am playing my second gen as cav, and I am already tired of it. I want a free respec!
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

Voted no, because you simply should decide what you wish to play at the beginning of your generation and if you are getting bored of it, you have the possibility to respec, but of course with a penalty of simply losing half your xp. I like it how it is like now.

(i was surely bored of a build at half lvl 30 before, however liked it later on..still I prefer the penalty)

It's great idea! I got the same thing, get bored after 5 mil or 5.5 mil! But mabye there should be pay too? Once per gen respec - no exp, just 10k of gold or smthg.

I say No. Why?

An Archer is the most difficult class to level up in terms of being useful or fun. Having to grow up as a doormat for cavalry and infantry, living through the frustration of shooting half a dozen arrows into someone only for them to bash your head in, being unable to accurately hit anything until you get high enough WPF is the punishment that someone must go through before getting into the upper echelon where you can hit what you aim for and do enough damage to kill it.

I do NOT want people to be able to go EZ Cav mode until lvl 30 and then switch right over to a hard hitting, accurate archer. No way.

Force people to live with the class they want, not allow them to ride a bike the first 26 miles of a marathon and then switch to foot for the last 385 yards.

Nope, that's nonsense.

Rumblood, yes your probably right, but if someone is archer reaching 30lvl from 21lvl should be a pleasure and good training when, the 21 lvl anyone can reach quickly, and I again say, to do it, you'll need cash, like 10k.

It's an interesting idea, but I think Grannpappy makes a good point; if not in terms of balance, but in terms of player satisfaction.

However, I would very much appreciate the ability to roll back a respec once per gen, because you were an idiot and decided that the 1h torchbearer build would be THE MOST EPIC THING EVER when, in reality, you got bored of it quickly and started raging at dying even though all you carried was a torch.

Just make fair price. For example:

+1 loomed item for every 9m of exp (disputable).
So, if you wanna respec as 81m character - sacrifice 3 masterwork items. (or 9 +1 items)

This will encourage people to buy cheap\unused loomed offers at market, also it's a good moneysink for highlevel chars.
