I'm still  positive it has to do with keeping the same gear (or how much gear you've had on for so long).  The more you swap out items the less likely you are to receive the text.

Thats definately wrong otherwise I´d would get it way more often. Always the same gear, but some time I didnt get it for a whole generation.

In my experience it's not.  The more often I change my gear, the less often I get the text.  The less often I change my gear the more often I get the text.  I still think it's highly random, but I think that seems to be the pattern I've noticed myself and from speaking with others.

Well played through a full gen of my HA and didn't get it once. The gen prior to that I got it twice, both before level 15 so it reduced all of my crafting abilities on good things and I haven't had it boosted since. Yay for a pretty crappy system  :)

I've got it like 2 times every gen, and I close to never change equipment (untill I began to play Rageball ofc). All I've heard is that it makes you crafting an item better, but it might be wrong.

I always have same gear on and didn't get it all this gen (just hit 31) and only once each last 2-3 gens before. It's completely random (as evidenced by some people who get it 5 times in an hour).

Really needs a revamp, current system very unpopular and whacked out design. What I've proposed before is the items you have saved in your character page are what are eligible to gain crafting skill in, and when you also have that same saved item equipped in your ingame inventory you collect XP towards strategus crafting skill in that item. Say you then get a 1 point crafting skill gain every 2 million XP of use (so 3-4 per gen).

This would be a logical progression to skill gain, and you gain via use and also don't have to worry about losing skill accidently by gaining in a different item (you wouldn't gain in something unless you activated it's gain by saving it on character page).

basically yeah, you set the items you want to gain xp in, then they gain when you use them.

Another trick to boost weapons is to have more of them equipped. I was rolling around with 4 Mighty Iberian Maces for a long time. Really added to my crafting skill when the message struck.

Idk, probably. I never pay attention to money, because I've always had a surplus of it at the end of the day. Wearing light armor and never going cav will do that I guess.

I think he didn't asked why you get it but what it does.

It 's a Strategus feature -  you can craft the items you wear when you get the text, or craft it better.

I was replying to the OP sorry.

Replying to some other comments - i played several gens wearing gothic plate as for most of it and hardly got chadz text compared to wearing haubergeon set and getting it two times a gen.

This gen I got it twice already, i just turned 30. Last gen I got it once, maybe twice, and the gen before was two times.

Before that, I wore gothic armour a lot, like constantly, knowing about chadz text and waiting for it but never getting it.

The chadz text thing for heirloomed items is retarded.

Just saying.

This is why throwing weapons are easy to get a lot of skill in. 4 stacks of +3 throwing weapons = win.
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.
