Make a cav STF char, buy a horse and a Great Lance and try it. Its fucking hard to kill anyone with that piece of crap. Just leave it as it is, its far from OP and fine the way it is.

Great Lance. Can't block with it. Can't attack with it on foot. Very slow, easy to dodge couch. Nerf the shit out of it!

Most useful lance at the moment, in my opinion, since couch seems to have a better field of view than thrust now and GL has the longest couch. You still don't want to be running into any HL cav head on, but that's very easily avoidable and it's 1/3 the price of HL.

The best reason to buy a lance other than the GL is if you want to use it as infantry.

I bet you haven't played cav. At all. Also, if you have a long spear and you manage to get yourself killed by a great lance you're doing it wrong.

Spec the top cavs on the map the next time you get yourself couched and tell me how many of them are using the great lance to rack up their kills.

FYI the lance thrust angle was reduced down to the same angle as the couch, as such all have exactly the same angle of attack.  Furthermore the HL, when thrusted, will out reach the couch from the great lance.

If you read my post, I did mention that HL outreaches GL. If the angle is the same, I'll take your word for it, though the animation shows it reaching a slightly better angle with couch.

Sorry to all offended by my assertion that great lance is great, but it has the best damage and the 2nd best range, and costs 3.5k. I started a GL char a few days back and was getting 20-0 before I hit level 20, so it doesn't make much sense to me that others would not have the same result.

Make the topic, it definitely does need a buff. The samurai vs knights battle showed how useless it is as a weapon vs anyone but unaware noobs.

I would suggest a length increase so that it out-ranges the Heavy Lance since atm there is no reason to choose the Great Lance over the Heavy Lance. Im a 1h cav with 0wpf and even then the HL is much more viable than the GL.

Why not just remove couch from the normal spears and leave it only on the couching spears?

Make all "lance"marked weapons couch only...but the lighter the lance the shorter the couch downtime and the slower you can ride with couch mode. This will enhance cav combat all around by making spears, 1h, 2h more viable in cav on cav crime. Currently its heavy lance and bow, bit boring no?
