Ok I see what you mean. I don't know why you would be in the equipment menu when you alt+tab. At the end of each round it brings up the equipment menu so you can't spawn anyways, it's not native where you automatically spawn.
If you're running warband from steam you can do the alt+tab to get to the in game friends interface and then alt+tab, that's what I usually do (so I don't have to alt+enter to put warband into a window). Seems to be pretty stable and only crashes very rarely when I do that.
And like tears, I just wait til I hear the end of the round sound (figured it was drums not trumpets).
