Upkeep usefulness

I consider upkeep to be broken now... This time would come eventually.

Everyone who has played for over 3 months has over 1 million gold(?) stashed in the bank, yet upkeep shafts the newer players.

It's not even that hard just to break even with 50k in equipment. I don't really know why I'm bringing up this topic... Perhaps for the sake of poor noobs and STFs who have to grind for gold first?

I'm not complaining about upkeep, just pointing out that it's not really worth keeping an eye on it if you have over 500k... Though I never did play a full plate generation!

And my poll is not so much just readjusting upkeep, rather rebalance it or something...
(need sum drama pls)

I have played for over a year and I have 50k gold, so your statement is false.

Well I'm just assuming you could sell your looms... Do you have any?

As I said before though, I've never just played in 100k of equip all day.

i believe its false the only reason why i have 1000000 gold is because i wear light cheap armor and recently sold a loom

other then that it does its job...getting rid of plate crutchers

the only reason you can sustain your lifestyle is like you said you sold looms right?

other then that you cant afford a full pl8 lifestyle

Everyone could sell looms and play in better gear, that's the whole point. You either sell your loom and play in better gear or use your loom to improve an item. Working as intended I guess?

Grinders will always be in advantage in such games.

As for the rookies, you can earn enough money to buy decent gear by 23 (or 25 or whatever the level is now). And even in decent gear, unless on a bad luck streak, you don't lose money.

I suppose you guys are right... Though I think that with the metagame more towards agility builds, no one really wants to wear heavy, expensive armour.

You can have silly 15str\27agi buils and you'll still have the possibility to use 95% of armors/gauntlets/helmets.

And Gothic Plate is not so bad with 9 athletics.

I sold a +3 poleaxe for a million (quite cheap, but quickly sold), bought a well-bred charger for 500,000, and now I'm working on looming it up to sell it.

At 500k, you don't really worry about upkeep. I have very few looms (Only gen 6. I play my alts a lot), but honestly I'd rather sell them to get more cash.

Try alternating between keeping and selling your looms for each gen.
