A pinch hitter is someone who closes the game out when the other pitcher can't close it out if you get where i'm going with this.

Haha it is a baseball reference! Usually in a situation where the game is close and one home run or run in could win the game, you call in a sure hitter to close the game out in high pressure pinch situations, hence the term "pinch hitter". Ronnie is my pinch hitter.
