I paid $20 for warband and have played it for over 1000 hours, whereas I spent $60 for one of the latest CoD's and played it for about 20 hours.

Thankfully, for my wallet at least, good MMOs have been more and more scarce lately.

Looks more like mount and blade got bought by activision and they are trying so hard to make it a medieval call of duty

I have mixed feelings about the video so far

I've never enjoyed their game engines with previous game titles. They always felt cartoonish and clunky, more-so than Mount&Blade. Also, in that video the combat system felt sooooo sloooooowwwwwwwwwwww..wwww..wwwwww....ww.

I'd have to speed that shit up to even feel like I was an actual melee character. Hell, you do shit so slow that you may as well play whatever the fastest swinging character is and you'll probably win all the time. Either way, junk imo, and a lot of players will realize that unfortunately AFTER they purchase the game and are out a bit of cash due to the fact that it SUUHHHHHHHX.

I think it looks pretty awesome, the speed doesn't bother me only so far as cosmetically. From what I saw though Tank they have countermeasures in place to keep people from making "spam" champs (i.e. brittle weapons and susceptibility to parries/counter attacks). Honestly though it was a video of a game that is still "pre" alpha so I'd be willing to give it a beta try and see what it really has to offer. If it ends up being clunky and poop mouth animations not worth a section of 2 ply toilet paper worthy of wiping my ass. I won't buy it. But can't knock it till you've at least tried it and from what he was saying about not just shitty TDM game modes I am already 1000 times more excited about the potential of the game rather than complete lack of forward progress c-rpg has made. What was the last thing chadz has ever done for us the players other than make it harder to exploit....

It has potential, as it is in pre-alpha still. But if they don't speed up the combat it's going to be awful.
