Hunting/Light Crossbow Moving While Reloading?

Hey, just a random suggestion I thought of why can't we reload while moving (at a slower pace possibly) with the lighter crossbows.

thought process behind this : On a horse the animation shows the character simply pulling back the string with his hand is it necessary for him to bend down and stop moving?

Please discuss, I can see some bad things from this but also some good things.

(I know chadz is busy with lots and lots and lots of stuff this is just a suggestion to be MAYBE looked at, mostly just want to hear what you guys think.)

This would be unrealistic
they did not simply walk back in the olden days hence I presume m&b is based on the mideval era

also I don't know how the horsecrossbow animation would work in the acctual world

based in the 'mideval era', yes I see your point.

Sarcasm aside, I can see how this can be seen as unrealistic to reality's standards of loading a crossbow, but to my knowledge crossbows were reloaded using a winch or some sort of lever mechanism which is not present in the game already.

From what logic & reasoning I have, I have gathered that IN THE GAME light xbows and hunting are not that hard to pull back, in fact one can easily do so with one hand whilst riding a top a horse, why then when off of your mount is it necessary to stop and bend down to pull back the string.

My own obvious answer is of course, for game balance reasoning, so that there is still a reason to choose going Archery over Crossbow

again just discussing obviously there's no wrong answer or idea please continue to comment

Are you saying there were no mounted crossbowmen in the medieval era? :D Light crossbows should be loadable while moving. However on horseback it's relatively easy as you can brace the xbow when you pull the string. While walking that might be bit tricky but for gameplay reasons I wouldn't mind this at all.
Disclaimer: I hate xbows btw

There were, but they only got powerful weapons once the rack and pinion system for cocking the crossbow was developed, enabling them to carry really powerful ones. Slow to reload, of course.

While walking that might be bit tricky but for gameplay reasons I wouldn't mind this at all.

On foot you reload the light crossbow extremely fast (about 2x as fast as on horseback), you can almost do it on the move, stopping for just a part of a second - with practice you can learn when to start moving before hearing the "click" of the bolt being put in place and have the crossbow reloaded anyway. There's really no need to be able to reload one while moving.

Best ban reason ever:

I checked, the only Vagabond I found was Wolves_Vagabond_TheCruel, that guy is now unbanned. Ban reason was: "calling Zotte a cockswoggler".

Just like archers?lol...

It's funny how crossbowmen want to be the new archers.
Or Horse Crossbowmen wanting to be the new Horse archers.

Buy a horse.

lol, I did buy a horse, thats how I came to this thought, I'm not even a xbower, I just dabble & thought it strange how easily it is to pull back the string on the lighter xbows while on a horse but when off of the horse you have to bend over and pull the string back. xD

Just like archers?lol...

It's funny how crossbowmen want to be the new archers.
Or Horse Crossbowmen wanting to be the new Horse archers.

No, just like how the light xbows are already used whilst on a horse, but when off of the horse they become harder to pull back (I guess)

It's funny how your statement doesn't make much sense :D
A crossbowman cannot be an archer because he is a crossbowman, it is simple as that, I fail to see your logic.

I guess I see the imbalance that would be created between archers and crossbowmen, still think it would be cool :P

I have a better solution : remove the "reloadable on horse" flag for ALL crossbows.

That's more logical and balanced. And of course if it's that way, you obviously can't reload while moving on foot.

Logical? That's a logic fail right there. There's nothing that would stop person from reloading on horseback and for the sake of gameplay it should remain so in game too.
