My apologies for double post, but my first response to Corvinus was very brief, and I feel I need to expand it a bit.
Strategus is a very specific game. It is not deprived of human factor. How the map look like, which factions are in alliance, or even who plays in the same clan is based on personal relations . For that reason whatever we do in-game or on this forum does influence our in-game attitude and, subsequently our behavior. We (GO together with you, Corwinus) have pushed that element to the extreme, certainly within the limits of the game.
One may think that sending 15.000 troops against another clan for the head of one guy is an exaggeration. Look at that from this perspective: Every clan is free to attack any other. Such clan will have to swallow the bitter failure or cherish the sweet taste of victory. It will take the consequences of its actions. But what if you stab your ally in the back? What does this tell others about you? We are pretty anonymous here, but we still claim that values like honor or fair play are important. So how is it? Can we do whatever we want, cause it is just a game, or are we limited by the rules of decent human behavior? Strat will be wiped some day, but the same guys will start building their empires in the new one...
That is why this game is played here on this forum as well. Whatever we write here (apart for spam section maybe
) about other clans may, and in many cases will be viewed and assessed from the game perspective. We state here the reasons for wars, we publish here treaties and agreements between clans, and regrettably we spit on them or provoke them... is that not a good reason for war?
By the way - you said that you are not the clan leader of Wargs. Well, you have started the thread, you look like the guy deicing what is going on there. You are one of the Wargs. We have received complaints about GO guys doing stupid things on servers, and this are GO guys, and we often need to deal with that. We set rules like "no TK" or "no polls on bans"etc. Why? Cause there are other guys who do not want to hear "these GO bastards are just a bunch of teamkillers". We do not want to suffer form other clan members mistakes. Despite that we do.
To make long story short - whatever you do and how your behave in your life will have some (sometimes small but sometimes devastating) impact on how others look at you, what they think of you, and finally how they treat you. And the same basic set of rules as in RL do apply to the virtual world. Or at least they should apply.
