"I guess that many of you have read Tolkiens trilogy "Lord of the Rings" or at least saw the movie. But did any of you read the book of russian author K. J. Yeskov "The last lord of the ring". At least it was translated into polish this way. Original title is "Poslednij Kolcenosiec".

Today when i think about this book i almost regret that i tried it. Since the first time when iv read Tolkien's LOTR, being 12 years old it was for me a magic and romantic book. But 10 or 15 years later i found on the shelf in bookstore the book of Yeskov and Tolkiens books lost  all its romantism and magery.

How it could happend one may ask. It was pretty easy. Yeskov made Tolkiens books looking naive and childish. In his "Last Lord of the ring" he takes us for the last trip to middleearth where he uncovers the truth and the real story behind the trilogy.

In Yeskov version, this what we have read in the Tolkien's trilogy is nothing more but pure propaganda written by the victors of the war ( i dont want to compare it with WW2 because it would sound almost like revisionism).

The truth is that Mordor was a great, civilised country with multinational society of mankind, orcs and trolls. It was the most democratic country in the middle earth, which was working moreless like parliamentary monarchy in the UK, where king Sauron wasnt really ruling but taking care for internal peace and staying on the guard of tollerance. The univesity of Barad Dur became the most enlighted centre of middleearth, which brought Mordor to preindustrial age. The citisens of Mordor were living in comfort, ejoyed all freedoms and were very patriotic.

But the other feudal primitive kingdoms which were technologically and politcally still in the middle ages considered this raise of Mordor as danger and decided for war. Mordor had very good, disciplined and professional army but it was much smaller than joined forces of elves and feudal armies of Gondor and Rohan. Elves are portayed as cruel creatures who use poisoned arrows and find fun in murdering orcish children. They bring their puppet Aragorn as the candidate for the throne of Gondor. First Aragorn murders Boromir, son of the stewart of Gondor, next together with Gandalf, evil mage he was able to kill Denethor. Affcourse noone saw the death of Boromir so Aragorn said that Orcs killed him, but many including Denethor didnt belive him.

Every important event which took place in LOTR is exaplained in Yeskov's book in very cynic and realistic way. I guess Nicolo Machiavelli would enjoyreading it. After reading book of Kiril Yesokov LOTR really looks like some kind of poorly written propaganda.

The story begins when LOTR ends. Army of Gondor and Rohan defeated Mordor. They entered to Mordor, together with elves and started genocide, slaughtering most of the civilians. Considering science as danger for their evil magery destoryed university of Barad Dur and killed most of profesors. But the few who survived, especially corporal Cerleg, commander of reconeissance platoon of Kirith Ungol jaggers batalion, Halladin the doctor of medicine, supported by Faramir son of Denethor and Eowin from Rohan will try to not allowe the Elves subdue the humans and slaughter the orcs and trolls.

I can really recommend the book of Yeskov but i  must also warn those who want to try it. Once you read it, the Tolkien's trilogy will never be the same for you as was before.

Altough, i have no idea if it was translated into english or not. In Poland it was published in 1999 or 2000. Im sure it was also published in some other european countries, surelly in Spain and Czech Republic.

Are you gonna these threads everytime when someone will wipe you next strat also ? Be sure we are next.When strategus 4.0 comes up try to play and show some resistance because we will come like we did on kapikulu and no matter where you are =)

I don't care if my clan will loose all the fiefs, I don't care how big army will attack us, I don't care who will attack us and I don't care if I will have a weapon to fight against my opponents.

I care only about one thing - when I'll ask myself "Did we make a right decision that days? Was it really worth of that to refuse defensive pact that the Western Alliance have suggested? Why didn't we become a part of that Alliance?" I won't hesitate with the answers, because I know that I won't have hard feelings about decisions which were made. I will only remember that my Clan and personally me were standing by our ideas and nothing could force us to betray them. This is a game and if you can't act like a man here - ask yourself if you're the same outside this game or not.

I know that there is a very little, almost invisible chance to win this war (too many forces are waiting to attack us more and more) but we will fight until the last drop of Mercenaries' blood falls to the ground.

We don't like the way the diplomacy subforum is being used right now - most threads derail into offtopic within page 1. We want to see more roleplaying and in-character conversation. This doesn't mean hardcore roleplaying, but you should write stuff with your character in mind.

Alot of you seem to forget what the big boss has said. Anyhow, I think what the Mercs are doing is great - and I'm looking forward to stand with them in this glorious battle
