As an archer i prefer being pure, i carry a rus bow + bodkins with a pickaxe, the key is using your team to protect u while providing ranged support, can't wait for 24 agil by lvl 34.
Quick tips for noob archers:
1) Try your best to not shoot into melee, but if u really must, study the enemy player's movement, if they start backpeddling your teammate, pick a spot and let them walk into your arrow.
2) If u have a teammate that is high ath that likes to dance around their enemy, DON'T even try helping.
3) If u feel like u can't hit squat, try to dedicate yourself to anti cav early in the round, cav are not only EZ targets, but killing them or.......their horse early can be the difference btwn a win or lose later on.
4) Most ppl seem to like hybrid archers, honestly i HIGHLY recommend going pure for really this one reason, hybrids in cRPG are ok.....at multiple things, but never amazing at any one thing. If u die in melee it's all good, after all u have nothing spend into melee ( this will actually save u from raging ). Make an alt for all your melee needs ( hybrids are gimp unless lvl 31+ and even then pure is just even that much better )
All and all I hope some1 got some good info from this and the important thing is just have fun

I see no point in the skills for Ironflash.
And if you ask me, 7 Power Draw arent necessery. Which kind of bow you are using? On every bow except Longbow 7 PD is to much.
Only my opinion!

I use 8PD and still have trouble getting 3 hit kills. I use Ironflesh and it is a Godsent. I cant tell you howmany Times I have a black HP bar. 8PD+oomd Rus = 2hit kills. 8PD+Horn= Hs= %100 kill on anyone and 3Hit Kills on most. From 6 to 8 PD it's a very Major difference. 6PD is not enough at all. 7Pd is alright but 8 Is were it's at. 8PD and 3+ IronFlesh I will live by them. Ony thing I hate about my build is not enough 1h WPF and not enough powerstike so I glance everthing.

For an archer/melee hybrid build I strongly recommend:
Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)

    * Strength: 15
    * Agility: 21
    * Hit points: 60

    * Skills to attributes: 2

    * Ironflesh: 5
    * Power Strike: 5
    * Shield: 0
    * Athletics: 7
    * Riding: 0
    * Horse Archery: 0
    * Power Draw: 5
    * Power Throw: 0
    * Weapon Master: 7

    * One Handed: 55
    * Two Handed: 1
    * Polearm: 1
    * Archery: 158
    * Crossbow: 1
    * Throwing: 1

With bodkins you still can be effective at range yet can hold your own in most melee situations as well with the 60 hp and 5 PS.

Personally I believe this is to weak and for a Hybrid doesn't have enough 1 hand WPF.... I will post but I personaly don't like this build. But hey it's all play style right!

Here's my hybrid build

Lvl 32

STR: 21
AGI: 18

IF: 3
PS: 7
AT: 6
PD: 7
WM: 6

Archery: 140
Polearm: 92

Items: MW mail gauntlet, MW light leather, Thick rus cavalry boots, MW horn bow, MW tatar arrows, MW long bardiche

Plan for lvl 35 was getting AGI to 21, getting +1 AT, +1 WM, +1 IF, archery to 150 and polearm to 100.

Probably won't ever hit 35 as I'm thinking on respec or retiring.

Oh, some tips for noob archers, to practice shooting in melee I suggest seige. People aren't running in circles as much on top of walls and your team is more forgiving of tks/tws.

It's your thread if you don't like the build don't feel obligated to post it!  :wink:

WPF is to taste, I originally thought about bringing my archery wpf to 150 and then the rest in 1H (bringing it to 87) but honestly I see very little difference in wpf as far as melee is concerned.   In fact this is one of the few times I've ever put wpf into my melee weapon as an archer, usually it's pure all the way for me.

In general, putting 50 Points in a Melee profession of your choice is a good thing for archers.With WM6 and more its about 3-4 Wpf in archery which get lost, while you become really fast with Weaps like the shortened spear if you have 50 wpf at least.
Maybe it woud be better for me to find out where you life and kill you when you are satch a Soziopath. You have enough now.

i say the diffrence between 150 and 170 wpf is huge for an archer, and hybrids with rus or longbow up to lvl 30/31 are useless .So i mean its useless to spend your important points to any melee shit.

I disagree.

Yumi has certain disadvantage when it comes to long range archer/xbow duels and sniping, but at medium and short range it has both the accuracy and damage to be a very good support bow while taking only 1 slot, which means a much better 1H weapon (Or with one quiver of regular arrow and 2 extra slots for either a good 2H weapon or ladder/siege shield with 0 slot weapon)

Besides, it's a bigger bow than the rus bow or longbow, in which to some are important...? :mrgreen:

Shooting into melee is not as hard as people think. Just some people try to shoot into melee from half a map a way...idiots. Just wait for the target to move forward or backwards against your teammate, make sure your teammate does not have his back toward you, and make sure there are less than or equal to the amount of allies vs enemies. Other than that, you shoot knowing you WILL hit your teammates eventually. Just learn not to do it as much.
