Was just thinking how neat/helpful a one-stop shop could be for the clans, caravans, and independents out there. What are you buying, what are you selling, and what can you transport.

XX can promise protection for XY while XY delivers goods to YY's village in the northeast region.

If this is what you want, Carebear land is to the East- just don't expect much interest from them unless you're lockstep behind them. In the West, wars have been and will continue to be too intense for this to work, I imagine, since the battlelines are hard to cross without patrols or raiders taking you down.

IF trading were made more personal and between PCs instead of done almost entirely through NPC/system interactions, you might have a way to make this work. But as it stands, I don't think anyone wants a MORE complex system than this annoyingly complex one we've got right now.
