Elmokki, I ran your unofficial launcher again and it goes through the whole thing but only creates a .270 file. Let us know if you plan to update the unofficial launcher. I hope you do. It is odd that I can get onto the servers still running .270, but there are glitches. None of my armor is correct, for one.
Okay, I happened to have an old version of cRPG backed up so I could try updating an existing installation instead of doing a fresh test installation or validating an up to date installation.
The "Downloaded file didn't match the listed MD5 sum. This horrifies and scares me so I must stop updating :<" error reported above by you is what I get too and which is what fails updating properly. This is due to me not understanding the file saving method I used well enough. Now it deletes outdated files before downloading the updated file and it works properly even when updating an existing installation at least on my computer.
Error messages and wether the program finishes PROPERLY or not should be a bit clearer too.
The official launcher will still ask you if you wish to install a new version. You can press yes without any issues, it'll just check the validity of your files since you actually have all the updated files already - the laucnher just doesn't know it.EDIT: Small revision made due to a dumb error in code. As a bonus it'll read/write version data now so the official launcher won't be confused if you already have the newest version and it'll actually ask if you wish to update if you have the newest version already according to version data.
Get it from:
http://koti.kapsi.fi/~elmokki/crpg/cRPG-unofficial.exeLike before, I recommend running the official cRPG launcher when you want to start the game. My official one is not supposed to be a method to avoid using it, it's supposed to be a method of avoiding the downloader part for people who have problems with it.
