I don't like...
... their way to draw comics or cartoon, with those weird big eyes and retarded haircuts (+ colour)
... I don't like both their style of fantasy and science fiction. I like Orcs, Dragons, Trolls, not weird "Racoon men", Lake Witches and speaking Owls. Same with SciFi. The western version is superior.
... I don't like raping or the girl I fuck not enjoying it. Whoever loves this is a sick bastard.
... I DO love some gore in movies and comics, but in Japans the stories seem only to be a reason to show gore and violence. Which is sick aswell.
... I think western (= Frankish/Norman) knights looked much better than those Samurai in their weird, complicated armour. They were superior in almost any aspect (weaponry, armory) anyway. They even had their own martial arts, so I would love to see a knight in ring mail and longsword fighting a Samurai in his much lighter armour and his Katana designed for cutting.
... Ninjas. Whoever likes Ninjas in my eyes is close to loving Power Rangers. Ninjas and Pirates are the inpersonification of immaturity, for me. Vikings are slightly better.
... Superhumans of any kind, that can fly around, survive headshots, fight with a flawless choreography, etc., just take a look at the "Devil may cry 3"-intro and tell me that's not absolutely ridiculous
Next to this I am fed up with...
... Manga, Anime and Hentai everywhere, and games having this look
... weird movies were people fly through the air on invisible but obvious cables
... People not speaking a single word Japanese but having tattooes on this language on their back or leg
... same thing with the hype of Japanese(-like!) furniture with some weird symbols on the wardrobe I don't even know what they mean
... "Ooooooohhhhh! Raaaaaaalph! Let's go eating Sushi!" it's like women need to eat raw fish before being able to spread their legs
In short: that folk has no idea of style and decency. Our pop culture is terrible enough, so please spare me with their even more colourfull, even more turned in, even more extreme version. Just take a look at those "Ganguros"...
I don't want any comments defending the Japanese in one, more and especially all of those points. As I said, it's my personal, heavily biased view on things, as "liking a style" is as emotional as can be, and no reasonable arguments can change something about it. I mean: we play Mount & Blade, so we all like the middle ages to some degree. My brother HATES them, he refuses even to TEST any game taking place at that time. And I don't think you can convince him with resonable arguments to like the time. It's as it is.
Concerning c-RPG: 95% of all equipment are from the middle ages in Europe + the Orient. So most players get the feeling it's about this. As much as plate armour with sallet looks weird next to ring mail with nasal helmet, it still seems to fit more or less, especially if you don't have any clue of the proper historic periods. But a Ninja or Samurai among knights will always look weird. The mostly undeniably medieval European maps further imrpove this feeling.
Or, if you prefer the more turned in version, you can set up some background story where the biggest (or rather most promising, as you are starting on lvl 1) fighters get sucked in by some kind of portal, being thrown together in a weird parallel universe, together with all the still "missing" fighters like (American) Indians, Vikings, Romans, Greeks, Highlanders, Landsknechts or even 30-years-war-fighters (with really crappy muskets you can't move with while aiming, as they need those sticks as brace) on maps that clearly don't belong to any of those "cultures". Then I could live much better with Samurais and Ninjas.
