Backpedaling is much too fast.  I don't know about you, but I can't move backwards IRL as fast as I can in Crpg.  Well at least I can't do it while concentrating on fighting and blocking and concentrating over not stumbling backwards over corpses, fallen weapons and uneven terrain.

In rl you're not a hardened veteran warrior who's life depends on his lightning reflexes and athletics. Good game.  8-)

I can. In fact, real life maneuvering in contact sports tends to happen at a much faster pace than anything I've seen in an action melee game. That said, I agree. It's an annoying tactic- especially if you decide to use, say, a short sword against a poleaxe. However, maybe this is how things are meant to be- and that's the price we pay for choosing certain builds.

I'm not sure if it needs to be changed or not. The only solution is to play more carefully than your opponent. Which is fine with me, even though you really can't counter-attack- you're more useful in team battles, anyway.

Last thing I want is chadz changing more things. T_T
For gods sake people, you'll only be satisfied when every weapon does the equivalent of a practice dagger.  :(
I wish for once there would be no changes. Back peddling is fine.

The game is pretty well balanced right now. As much as I'd like some things to be better, I'd be wary of any serious changes. Just play well and build a decent character. Most of the complaints (the current notable exception being crush through non-hammer weapons) are related to poor player skill, not poor balance or poor gameplay mechanics.

Ok. Start warband, take athletics 7 char, run towards a wall and 1cm before you hit it make a 90° turn.
Now, do that in real life. Do it.
Warband movement system is flawed on several accounts, but I doubt it ever gets changed. Maybe if there is a warband 2...

Barry Sanders did it every day back when they let him play

I guess all Kalam knows about real life contact sports is the info he got by sitting in front of a screen.

I am practicing Ninjuitsu since I was a child. I dont have delay or weird animations in real life. Even the best trained real life material art fighters are exhausted after having fought for some seconds. And they dont wear armor!

Warband is an arcade game, its a game for kids that want to spam huge axes or swords around and getting tons of kills without using their brain.

(When you are a build with less athletics than the poleaxe spammer and use a short sword against him, your build and your weapon choice are not fitting the situation. Get more athletics, or a bigger stick.)

LOL WUT

It would also be more believable if you could actually type ninjutsu right

Wtf?
Doing karate since i was 8 and i can fight for more than "some seconds" without being very exhausted.
A 5 minute full contact fight is something else but not after a few seconds.

P.S.
You are fighting naked?  :D

Most martial arts practitioners can fight for a some minutes, but I've never tried material arts so I really can't say.

Best ban reason ever:

I checked, the only Vagabond I found was Wolves_Vagabond_TheCruel, that guy is now unbanned. Ban reason was: "calling Zotte a cockswoggler".
