Getting started for Mac

Hey all Mac Users
First Word
I know many of you will say now, "Mac is crap, buy a PC/Windows CD" or " F*ck off with your F*cking Mac" or anything like that but i wanted to tell you that you can run your only Windows Games on the Mac!

What's required
Uhhm 1. you need an account at portingteam.com
          2. Log in with your account and then paste the following link  [http://forum.portingteam.com/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=4727] without []
          3. If downloaded open the image and drag the "Steam (PC)" anywhere you want (f.e. in the "applications" Folder)
          4. Start by Double Click and let steam update
          5. Log in with your Steam account
          6. Buy Games/ play them even if they are not avaible for mac ;)

Known Bugs
-Steam Flickers a bit here and there
-In the chat box you don't see the box where you write
-At the start it could lag a little bit
-If playing MB:W you got a bug with your mouse, you can't scroll all the time. If you reach the end of your Desktop you cant scroll anymore
(you can solve this a little bit by taking down the scroll speed in "System Settings" and then Mouse)
(See the Spoiler at the End
-sometimes you can't open the Community while ingame

Other Stuff
I haven't testes any other games, but maybe also other games could run perfectly, i am unsure about new games like MW3 or Skyrim, maybe someone could test this and can give a feedback
I would like to upload my version of the steam, so without the Mouse Problem!
Also i would like to pack cRPG in there, but my upload takes years...
If anyone could do this, i would give him a great thanks [but be sure to delete your steamapps folder^^]
Palian!

Alternatively, use Bootcamp and have zero bugs (though obviously this requires you to buy the expensive required OS).

Regardless, nice post!

I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

I have been playing for months already on a mac using crossover games, and I remember seeing somewhere a fix for the mouse, it was in this page: , but I cant remember how it worked.
I used bootcamp before, but when using as well TeamSpeak, it lagged a lot, the game worked fine, but the voice just got messed up in slow-mo like, so i came back to mac.

Anyway, nice guide, I might try it out some day.

I need my Mac for the work, and for study, so i deceided to use him more, i get everything on mac to work. I know Windows is Better for Gaming, but its also cool to develop something under Mac.

You do realise that I was only joking right? Look at what I wrote. I wrote the excact same that you wrote in your post. Personally I do not like mac, but I completly understand that it is appealing to some people. It is really usefull for work because it is so thin and light.

This is a guide for how to operate this game using a Mac, this is not a Mac VS PC debate. Act accordingly.

Heh, no problem buddy. Maybe I did not show the sarcasm well enough :P

And to ToD, we are not having a debate, just a misunderstanding, but I still feel I have to answer Palian here on why no one likes Mac. Just don`t go all crazy on me ToD, okay?

Well, I do not like Macs becuase they are overpriced. They have some good features, true, but they are simply overpriced. A part of the reason I do not like Mac is becuase I do not like apple in general. I must admit that I use an Ipod Touch myself, but I still don`t like apple. One reason is that they take to much money for their products( Like I already said ). Another one is how they controll the music market on their Ipods, sure there are workarounds, but most people do not realise this.

They had some good moments in the past, but ATM their computers are way off in the price scale.
