I made a heavy armour str archer, wasn't very fun. You shoot incredibly slow with poor aim, meaning you're melee support and very likely to get into melee fights but without the stats for it.

You will have some fun but you will get tired of not killing people.

take out one PS point and use  it for athletics, you will need them due to your low agility.
Try different bows, maybe you can shot fast enough.

good luck

I'm pursuing a similar archer build and so far it works.  Obviously you don't wear much armor anyway, and I suggest ditching a lot if not all power strike for more athletics, or even getting to 15 AGI with another WM.  The speed and precision will pay off since your bow will hit so hard anyway.

Something like this is what I'm going for:

Level 31 (8 892 403 xp)

    * Strength: 27
    * Agility: 15

    * Converted: 12
    * Power Strike: 1
    * Athletics: 5
    * Power Draw: 9
    * Weapon Master: 5

    * Archery: 149

I have a level 30 archer with PD7 and 150 WPF. I'm not exactly unhappy with my build, but I'd recommend throwing instead. With as close as you need to get to hit reliably as a strength-stacked archer, you might as well have the speed and high piercing damage of the deadly lawn darts of doom.

My opinion might be different if I had a triple-heirloom warbow with triple-heirloom bodkin arrows doing absurd amounts of damage, but I have a life instead. (Though I'd be willing to trade... :oops:)

I'm going for this build for my archer alt:

Level 30

Strength: 24
Agility: 15

Ironflesh: 0
Power Strike: 6
Shield: 0
Athletics: 4
Riding: 0
Horse Archery: 0
Power Draw: 8
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 5

Two Handed: 104
Archery: 120

You can change the wpf to more archery if you want or some other weapon it's powerful enough without sacrificing speed.

I think i would do something more balanced too, like Vexus. More Wpf in 2 Weapons.

Because archers are loved aims from Cav , i think the other weapon should be polearm , with pike or something.

What do u think about it ?

Maybe 120 wpf in archery and rest in pole ?

Sounds more fun , even if u go in infight with inf , or cav.

Edit : ANd with a long maul you can hit even turtles attacking you. At least for one try to hit, because you are very slow. But fun is it anyways ....

My build

Str 33
Agi 9

PS:3
PD:11
WM:3

Archery: 130

The build is kinda messed up should only have taken 30str. since PD = 14% dmg (4 above bow req)
It's very slow and when you need to melee it is horrible , but i still get decent kills with it and the aim isn't bad.
If I only knew how the dmg was calculated since i don't really 2 shot alot of people but well peasants i can sometimes one shot but think the more agi based archers can do that also.

PD =+14% (4 above bowreq) i don't know if it's also the 6PD or only 14% for every point OVER bowreq.
Anyway i two-shot most non-mail horses but hard to say since speed is a factor also.

If you got time and are willing to make a build like it go ahead but you won't 2-shot alot of people.
Players mostly have around 40 armor meaning -40dmg of your shot (say average player 50hp) means you need to do 65dmg to 2-shot Them and i don't think that attainable unless you have triple heirloomed gear.

Anyway goodluck
(if anyone knows what exactly WPP does for archery let me know since i don't have a clue. (dmg+speed+accuracy) seems to me my aim isn't that bad anyway the dmg is mostly a fraction and speed well that could be correct cause i'm slow but that's also because i don't have agility.)

With 120 wpf bow animation is not that slow neither fast just fine but don't forget if your wearing heavy even medium weight armor you'll notice the difference in bow's speed.

Wish there was some armor with weight 6-8 that it doesn't look like ninjas or samurai but more archerish, bandits, light armor you know.

Yes but there could be armor around 30-34 with weight 6-8 for people that want lighter armor since studded leather coat has that ugly pink making me not using it.

I use "Ragged Outfit" weight 3.5 / body armor 23 / leg armor 9
I always thought i needed to be below "weight 5" in total from equipment to not have WPP penalty.

WPF penalty was changed to a % now but no real information on how it works was posted.

My archer atm uses padded jack 25 body for 3.5 weight which is nice but if I could get a little more protection while not surpassing 10 weight it would be great.
