Call it what you want. In most cases, ethnic intolerance is erroneously referred to as racism but is often more simply called racism as it is universally recognized as singling someone out for being of a certain ethnic demographic. It'd be akin to asking a guy named Juan Pedro Lopez what part of the border fence he climbed under to get to America, which is just as severe as calling someone a racial slur.
