Here's two artists that make me want to pull out my electric-acoustic guitar and noodle around on it.

Bibio. Lo-fi acoustic guitar with heavy electronic post-production. Nothing else out there like this.

Grouper. Heavy droney ambient electric-acoustic guitar and equally dreamy vocals. She describes her music as representing the strange semiconscious space between the waking world and dreams. It's not scary, but it still sends a shiver up my spine.

Oh man the chord progression on this one makes me feel so many feels. Heavenly. At 1:00 in to the song is where it gets really good.

Nice collection there, man. Grouper is easily in my top 5 favorite projects ever.

I'm gonna post a few drone-likey stuff, which I adore.

First off Mirroring. This is the collab between Liz from Grouper and Jesy Fortino of Tiny Vipers. Utterly beautiful in any aspect.
Moreover, some stuff from Steven R. Smith, whom I consider one of the best musicians out there.Drone/folk/experimental/ambient whatever, it doesn't really matter, does it.
(This one project of his, Hala Strana, is mostly instrumental folk, and is very close to my heart.)
You guys might know this formation, some drone stuff from Cali. Make sure to check them out, they are spectacular.
I'll drop some more folky stuff in the next post of mine.
We don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents.

Natural Snow Buildings, I hope them I don't have to introduce. French duo, they have been out there for almost twenty years now.
Isengrind, a NSB sideproject, or rather the project of one lovely half of NSB.
The Blithe Sons, sometimes pretty eerie, but beautiful at the same time.
O Paon, a lady from Canada witha  lovely voice.
Thuja, the former band of Steven R. Smith, whom I praised in my last post.
That's all for now. Enjoy!

And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Sahel Sounds is a really cool music blog. It's run by a guy living in the Sahel region of Africa. He has field recordings and albums from the area. There is nothing else on the internet that will get you these recordings. It's the sound of a traditional culture that is still absorbing mainstream/global influences. The history of this region is completely ignored in general history courses, even at a college level. Absolutely fascinating from an anthropological perspective. A lot of "world music" stuff is really kitschy and removed from the source but this is unfiltered gold. Listening to it makes me feel like I'm really there. Here's a link to a promo CD:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/d61l855fhjhzbl4/sahelsounds_promocd.zip

Here's something on youtube for the impatient.

The promo CD has a ton of variety. The field recording of Nouakchott Market has this awesome ambient background of people talking, hawkers selling goods, beeping car horns and old brakes squeaking. If you listen to one track off the album, make it that one.

I don't know whether you have or have not came across the new Mamiffer album yet, but it is hands down the best record that came out this year. Mamiffer has been one of my favorite musical projects for a very long time now, and I could say I have yet to find a single track by them that I didn't like. If you are not familiar with them, I encourage you to check their stuff out, almost everything by them is on either the Hydra Head or the SIGE records' or their own bandcamp page. The band consists of Aaron Turner, formerly a member of the legendary post-metal / sludge band ISIS and shittons of other musical projets. And his wife Faith Coloccia of Everlovely Lightingheart. I just made this post because I've been listening to this album since it came out, and I find it utterly beautiful and worth spreading.

teaser above, and here's the whole album: https://mamiffer.bandcamp.com/album/statu-nascendi

I've been playing Minecraft again. I have a playlist of ambient music set up just for playing MC. Has lots of Bibio from one of my recent posts. Here's a random sampling. Goes perfect with the lonely wandering I always end up doing.

I wish I could see High Wolf perform live. Look at that fuckin' mask man.

That's something I wish I had thought of. I wanna don some ceremonial drapery and play ambient noise at a goofball hipster venue...

More ambient. It's winter and this is winter music. Everything is dead and sleeping. Everything is dead. Everything is sleeping. There is no birdsong, no windchimes in the breeze. The only sound is wind whistling in the empty branches. Everything is dead.
