Does your crpg character get XP for participating in strat battles?  How much?

For example, I left the battle server yesterday on a 5x to help defend a doomed village.  Was it worth it in any way?

Nope. big battles you get less exp than you would get for two x1 ticks

Do the XP we get from Strategus go to our main character? Or is there a special "character" you use just for Strat?

For example I see people mentioning a "skill" in crafting. What is this skill and how do you increase it?

Your xp from strat battles goes to your main char and your main is the char you use for strat.

About your ''Skill'' in crafting you get that by just playing normal CRPG that is all.

So basically as it is now... its not really worth to play Strategus battles UNLESS you are part of a big clan and actually trying to take a village or castle or whatever right?

I mean I took part in a 1200 vs 600 battle yesterday and at the end (like an hour almost) got 800xp and 0 gold...

Also a bit weird that you randomly get a craft skill by playing CRPG and not somehow connected with where you are in strategus or based on your build etc...

It's pointless and rather boring to play random strat battles, especially for villages.
Not nearly as fun as regular battles, very laggy, equipment makes it look like neolithic, long periods of archer skirmishing, take far too long and you get nearly no XP and no gold for them.
The current XP gain is quite pathetic and might as well not be there, I understand that a new system is probably going to be implemented - but just why not make it flat x2 or even x3 for all strat battles for now? Really no incentive to play them for non-diplomatic and non-strat goal reasons.

is probably still the same, maybe little bit better equipment for enemies. I've got between 250K-400K from strategus start(30 battles). Best tick i saw today was above 5000xp in defense against Risen.

With money gained in strat battles, we could afford a real equipment. Actually, I just can afford almost free stuffs.
This would also gain time and have a kind of mercenary way of life instead of capitalist/craftman.
