Next stellar idea: NOW THAT WE MADE HORSES USELESS LETS JUST GET RID OF THEM IM TIRED OF BEING LANCED

I think that after a horse bumps you, it should do bump damage plus the damage of the hooves trampling you. I bet you wouldn't like that realism would you?

This was never about making horses useless.  Less trolling Noob.

It's about the fact I am in the middle of a battlefield and I have 2 infiltry guys on me with 2 handed axes while their cav teammate just makes tight figure eights  running over me consistantly and opening me up for their attacks.

Then attack the horse, if he has his shield up he can't attack you. It's in no way different then someone shooting you while you're trying to melee, except it does bugger all damage and the horse is in range of your melee weapon. It's less of a pain the a HA riding behind you and just shooting you in the back. Regardless how annoying it is, it's called supporting your teammates.

Basically it gets to the point that they are horsebumping you to death regardless of how you look at it.  It knocks you down and opens you to attack.  They don't even attack they just shield and bump.  Is this always?  No - it's situational.  But the fact it happens opens the possibility of a small percentile penalty for the actions.

Why, exactly? If he's holding his shield up and bumping you with a horse, then excuse me but you can attack the horse, and given almost nobody rides a armoured one... you get the picture. He's risking his horse to help his teammates. Anyway, you want to kill the horse by holding your shield up, there's also the left mouse button.

I'm not an idiot, I understand the dynamics involved Bruce.  Thanks for playing Devils Advocate and managing to keep the actual point of the posting down to a minimum.  You seem stuck on random issues and unable to see the real issue here being the ability to bump without penalty to the rider.  Not the damage issued.

Excuse me, but aside from being knocked down/bumped for a very short period of time you're not really getting any penalty for being ridden down by a horse. If we implement horses damaging themselves when running over you, wouldn't serious trample damage + 5s-10s knockdown to you make more sense? Just to be, well, fair?

I'm certain you're not suggesting that horses should kill themselves riding over infantry which suffers.... NO DAMAGE AT ALL.

The fact is it's too easy for a cav to do this and with say even a 5% chance of dismount should the horse become entangled in the victim I think it would lower the instances of this happening and at least add an element of random fun to cav players.

It's like saying the infantryman being randomly knocked unconscious or having their limbs broken would also add a element of random fun to infantry players.

And no, it's not too easy to do so. People who are not turtles holding to RMB for dear life can often kill horses attempting to do this. It typically takes one good hit.

Basically, with your incredibly novel idea the new anti-horse weapon would be just jumping into its face, which of course deals no damage to you but can kill the horse if you're lucky. What's next, you'll ask for axes to rebound in the face of their owner if they hit your shield?

I checked, the only Vagabond I found was Wolves_Vagabond_TheCruel, that guy is now unbanned. Ban reason was: "calling Zotte a cockswoggler".

No.

Horses have been balanced properly.

You lost me at humongous.  I never said I wanted horses or the riders to take damage when trampling.  I said there should simply be a 5% chance of rider dismount if trampling someone.  That is all I ever suggested.
