[Poll] Best melee class

I'm curious as to what the community thinks is the best melee class based on their overall usage (against other melee, cav, range, etc.)

Personally, I think that polearms are the best melee class right now, due to their versatility. What do you think?

you forgot 1-h no shield.

I would have said "Polearms" before the update that changed throwing vs armor and allowed all bows to do piece damage.

Now I think it's a lot closer, but I'm going to go with "1H+shield".

Because it doesn't matter how awesome your polearm and polestun and lolstab and pikewiggle abilities are when someone shoots you in the eye with an arrow from across the map, or just backpedals and happily throws axes into your chest until you die.

Do you mean best in sense of who gets more kills and is easiest to play etc?

Or do you mean what people like most and consider due to that as "best" ?

Quite true, but I would add the Long Spear too for "Best in terms of getting kills".

My best?  1h/shield no question.

"best" best?  Polearms probably b/c of their versatility blah blah.

when mastered? 1h without shield no doubt, lighting fast, reasonable damage with high ps and reasonable reach with most of the higher tier swords.

polestun, stopping incoming cav completely, being able to go support, being able to quickly be a deadly cav by just changing the build a little bit and ofc op weapons like glaive.

All classes are good, and all have own positives. You can get tons of kills with everything all you need is some insane skill:

to be fair, my 2h was from lvl 1 where as my polearmer was a respecc so 2h could be just as high. Id have to say polearms though because of the longspear, amazing support and offesnive weapon and you can  also carry a close quarters weapon on your back.
