[Mechanics] Allow choice of non-sticky use of X-button

Now that WSE is in the mod would it be possible to allow x-key to be used like a shift key optionally? I'm thinking mostly for half swording. I'd imagine having to toggle the thing not quite as dynamic as it should be. Never actually used it myself thought so feel free to correct me. So you could do quick hit from left, quick half sword from the right, quick thrust etc. kind of combos easier?
[Edit to add] I'm of course thinking in terms of having it in the mouse on the thumb button. Not all people have that. And of course you could add another weapon modifier key so you could have the old x-toggle key and a new shitf state key also.

Why is everybody telling me to think? I think, I just don't show it.

You know you can switch the "Toggle weapon mode" key under options? :x I'm using left ctrl.

whats hes suggesting from what I can tell is a temporary 'while the key is held down' kind of action.  Like crouch button in most FPS, you only stay crouched while you hold it, when you release you stand up.

Also the alt fire mode is horrible has horrible responsiveness in this game.  Its like you have to stand still doing nothing and give it a full second to switch.

Yeah I know you can reassign keys. That's not the issue. I have my weapons in 1-4 and kick + x in mouse.  Digglez understood it right. I was talking about a shift state key. You could do quick switches without having to toggle.

The switch used to be a lot more responsive but you were able to toggle it on and off in succession to simulate "jerking off" your sword, which was HILARIOUS but MY IMMERSION!!

It was changed because it could be exploited to chamber invisible attacks.
Oh, and the suggestion in the OP isn't doable.
