Heirloom fusion !

Allow people to "smelt" two heirloomed items of the exact same base item together and create a better item.

It should be possible with :

- two +1 items creating a +2 item
- a +1 item and a +2 item creating a +3 item

You should pay a small fee to do it.

Motivations :

- Would help reducing the scaling between +1 and +3 items (a +1 costs roughly 300k while a +3 costs roughly 1,2 M => 400k per heirloom)
- Would make the +1 "bad" items that are flooding the market more desirable because you could smelt them and get decent and cheap +3 items
- Would make heirloom point trades completely safe. The seller just creates a +1 item of the desired kind and sells it to the buyer.

But add a breaking chance as well :P .

It would be cool (like 0,5% break chance for each item, if any or both of the two involved item break, the fusion fails and you only have 1 or 0 items left if you are extremely unlucky )

Sadly, it would take out the best argument for this feature : safe heirloom point trading.

This is actually a really good idea!

+1!

But not sure about the brake chance.

Sadly, it would take out the best argument for this feature : safe heirloom point trading.
Not really. It would just be another type of gamble for the one buying. Buy a +1 that he can fuse and possibly brake or give the other his +1/+2 and risk having the other run off with it.
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

There should be a risk, because you try to bypass the retire system.
If it would be a 100% save method, then highlevel chars of long time players would get stronger with nearly no effort.

I think the effort of spending 300k + gold to get something that will give you a negligible (when alone) stat bonus is enough. The market already allows people to bypass retirement or upkeep (or both xD). The moderation of this effect shouldn't be based on scamming.

This is actually a really good idea!

Thank you btw

Just like in what I said to Mala, I don't think the system should use scamming as a balancing mecanism. I there was a breaking chance with heirloom melting, then nobody would use it for heirloom point trading, scammers and honest people alike.

Ingame gold means nothing. I have a huge pile of it and i am at a higher level as well. So the only way to get any improvement for my current setup is to buy something at the market.

And with your suggestion i could get quite fast new powerfull items without effort, because i already have the money.

People playing in very cheap gear like you are an exception. Most players break even and don't care about money or the market. If you already have the money, you already did the effort.

Besides, buying heirlooms instead of using a little more expensive gear is only beneficial at very long term (one, two months ?).

No. It would serve to significantly devalue +3 looms by making them much more common.

If anything, this game would be improved by reducing the amount of max-level looms.

Reminds me of Diablo 2's set up for gems and such, but I'd like three +1's to make a +2, and two +2's to make a +3 better.

What about combining two +2 identical items? What this be impossible, or would you simply lose one of the heirloom points?

It would seem like a huge exploit if combining two +2 gave you a spare point to use on any item you wanted.
