How to use Pike?

Hey guys i have a STF mauler class. And when using the Pike i think it's a total waste. I don't know how to use it whatsoever.

Can someone give me a guide on how to use it? I have 1 Polearm WPF, 3 Agi, 0 WPF, 0 athletics.

1. Get some wpf in poles
2. Get more athletics

  Really though, try standing behind other teamies (especially shielders) and poking enemies in the eyes when they are distracted.  When they get too close switch to melee weapon.  More athletics REALLY helps to position yourself.  wpf will help you stab faster and more effectively.

I've actually never heard of a pikeman with 1 wpf and 0 athletics...
You could try using a long-spear?  It's a little shorter but has significantly higher speed.

i'm a MAULER not a pikeman. I use the pike at the start to hold the enemies at bay. I just need some tips how to use it.

But i just killed 4 people with it in 1 round so i think im getting the hang of it

Hmm, killing people doesn't mean you understand anything you do.

But the question is: who are those "enemies"?

infantry: keep behind your teammates, anticipate the enemies attack and then stab "around" your teammate while the attackers block is down

cavalry:
1. point your pike at them, if they aren't suicidal, they will go somewhere else.
or
2. dont point at them, only look around with ~ (or whichever button you use) and kill them, when they think you're an easy target and try to kill you.

for aiming at horses: aim low (at the chest), as they can simply downblock if you aim at the head/neck.

Come to the duel server sometime if you're NA. I'm on it more often since there's too much shit flying in the air nowadays with the archer buff.

But the question is: who are those "enemies"?

Whenever the infantry on my team are cowards or just outnumbered i spam poke and the shielders tend to sit at their position to give my fellow infantry a chance to escape or they move back. Rarely they charge to take me out. But my infantry have already fled which means i've saved 5-10 pointless deaths.

OOOOHHHH in that case its only 3 steps.

1. Drop pike
2. get the enemy in range of your specialized weapon
3. Crush skullz!

j/k   It can be fun to use 2 kinds of weapons, but you may do better with the maul alone.

Sorry i live in Ireland. Playing in NA servers i like playing with 20 parralel downloads, and i have shitty 2mb internet.
