Why are Halberds expensive?

Last time I checked Halberds were known to be cheap yo.

Not sure how cheap they were.  Do you have a source?

I know that maces and axes were considered cheap weapons, but halberds need more materials and a little more craftsmanship to shape them right and not be too unbalanced.

The only halberd in game is the swiss halberd, and it is medium-priced I think.

No, its a poleaxe which is separate from a halberd.

"Sometimes weapons such as the halberd, the bardiche or the Danish axe are mistakenly called pole axes as they are indeed axes mounted on poles..."

The english bill in the game is a weapon that is different from the farmer's tool, though the weapon was derived from a farmers tool.

Nice work!
The swiss halberd is already cheaper than most of the 2h swords, but not the 1h ones.  It would be cool to have realistic pricings.
