Dear Fellow gamers, friends, and maybe not so friends,
Today I write to you in attempt to appeal to your sense of empathy, for today there may have been an injustice to the community by two players, (well one player who most people know and then me) who through jovial actions tarnished the gaming experience of our fellow gamers. "We become human only in the company of other human beings. And this involves both opening our hearts and giving voice to our deepest convictions. ...When we shrink from the world, our souls shrink, too." ~ Paul Rogat Loeb. I believe that throughout this post if we keep this sentiment in mind we may all learn to forge on in this community to form stronger bonds and understandings of actions that have ensued on this night, 10/17/2011 sometime between 7pm and midnight central time.
During a semi-regular night of c-rpg in ATS vent after many of us retired and have been enjoying the pleasures of low level shenanigans. This went on for plenty of maps including some other members of the community who would join in on our laughs and come and go but our spirits did not transcend the entire server, as we had so blindly believed. During a cool desert sunset the gang began "A roof top dance party" which may have went awry after it was not taken so lightly and led to a member of ATS being team killed. This would lead to Palatro and I attempting to get onto the roof on our own to enjoy our own sort of party without the restrictions of others ideas of fun. This would cause truly tragic as it turns, as it was taken as griefing to another clan. It may have gone too far, as I admit we did push the envelope quite far but with admins on we were ready to stop at any time. With no such asking, not even from the ones ourselves were bullying we assumed it was all being taken okay, that life was good and it was also giving them some form of enjoyment. Palatro and I both apologize for our actions though this is too late. It did not seem at the time that it was such a problem and the initial accusations and dramatic video were both shocking and confusing, causing my very defensive behavior. Though the situation may have been handled better it should not have needed to be handled at all and we both now understand that.
I would like to believe that this will not happen in the future, but to make things more clearly noticed it would be appreciated if we could be told what exactly part of the official server rules through quote we were breaking. I am not one to read into things and that has obviously this has lead to me being a fool. It would also be nice if we were told the length of the ban, as we have basically be shunned without being told much of anything. "We become human only in the company of other human beings. Our humanity in this case has lead us to hurt others feelings while we were bonding, but in the same light this could be an opportunity for you to open your hearts to two players just messing around, having a silly time in a game that they can take way to seriously, and are finally having a good time in again. I thank you for your finally letting us know we crossed a line, and again apologize for that lined being crossed. As I have said in past posts I ended past posts with Love, I mean so truthfully, weather I enjoy your shenanigans or love to hate you in battle I will not end this post as seemingly sardonic.
