What is the most useful for battle and strat?

Hello,
I was wondering which of these types of classes is the most useful for battle and strat, I do not have a good connection and haven't been playing for the past 4 months so i was wondering what i should play as once i start again in a month ( when i get better connection )... I was pretty good at fighting with these different types of classes and was wondering which is the most beneficial to a clan if i decide to join one.

here are my ideas
          - 1hander with shield and medium armor (good for shield walls)
                                             - crossbowman with light armor (good against plate users)
                                             - 2Hander with heavy armor (heavy armor to compensate my blocking skills  8-) )
                                             - Heavy Cav (good for backstabbing people and mowing down archers)
                                             - Archer (my personal best but last choice unless the clan demands I would be one)

I hope you guys can help me out to find the class that is the most beneficial to a clan in battle and srtat.

P.S.- I love asian girls

Définitively not for strat if you suck at blocking. ^^

A lot of people won't give you an heavy armor.
The world is split in two categorie.
The one digging, and the one with the loaded crossbow.

But never forget that the one digging, got a big shovel.

IMO

1hander with shield and medium armor (good for shield walls)
+ Very Defensive (IE Shield walls: Great in some situations(siege))
- Very Defensive (IE Shield Walls: Horrible in some situations(open field))
+ Resistant to ranged attacks
-/+ moderate melee damage
- Unplayable on a server with bad ping

crossbowman with light armor (good against plate users)
+ 1 shot everything
+ Cheap armour
+ Playable on a server with bad ping
+ Ranged
- slow reload (vulnerable)
- No melee (if you are playing it right in strat)
Note: With the new commander rules in strat I think xbowmen will be terrifying snipers.

2Hander with heavy armor (heavy armor to compensate my blocking skills  8-) )
+ Good Anti cav
+ 1 hit in melee (generally)
- Expensive Armour
- Expensive Weapons
- Vulnerable to range
- Unplayable on a server with bad ping
Note: most 2handers have a duelist mentality. If you can control this impulse you can be an asset, if not, your a liability.

Heavy Cav (good for backstabbing people and mowing down archers)
+ Fantastic damage
+ Durable
+ Horse bump/formation disruption
+ Awesome in an open field battle
+ Payable on a server with bad ping(if mounted)
- Fairly slow(for cav)
- Vulnerable to Pole arms
- Next to useless in a siege
- Expensive Horse
- Expensive Armour
- Expensive Weapons
- Unplayable on a server with bad ping(if unmounted)
Note: Another class to consider is light cav. You are more vulnerable but gain speed and cost significantly less.

Archer (my personal best but last choice unless the clan demands I would be one)
+ Cheap Weapons
+ Cheap Armour
+ Ranged
+ Playable on a server with bad ping
- Weak damage
- Limited ammo (you will spend 1/2 the battle running around picking up arrows)
- No melee ability
- The class is nerfed in every patch making the long term viability of the archer uncertain (FYI another nerf to archery in strat is in the works IE decreased accuracy increased shoot speed)

Ultimately, the choice comes down to what your clan's needs are and what you are willing to do. I've played this game for a year the first 6mo as a 1H shielder the most recent 6mo as an archer. I switched because I live on the west coast of the US and my ping on the EU servers is 200+, at best. This made me useless to my clan when I played in any EU battles so I became an archer. Now I can play NA and EU with no problem.

Also note that if you are going cavalry and are bad then you waste a TON of gold in strategus battles by losing so many horses/lances.
I wish more people would think about this before spawning with a horse and lance.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions... right now I can play some native multiplayer with bad connection and 200 ping but I find xbow to be very effective ...the benefit with this would be that if a strat battle on NA occurred that even with 120+ ping I could probably still be pretty useful =)

When my connection is good next month I make a STF Xbowman =))))))

You shouldn't judge xbow effectiveness by native D:

I don't understand, I know the reloads take longer in c-rpg but I always find a good spot to hide for those 5 seconds, do you mean the damage is better/worse?

Siege xbow is far overpowered in native. Reloads a lot faster than in cRPG, the aim is perfect (due to high wpf), I think there's less projectile drop too and faster projectile speed, the damage is better.

I guess I will try it out with STF next month, I will consider all of the mentioned pros and cons for each play style.

In my experience:

1h + polearm + shield = Very flexible character with a lot of options. Can do shieldwalls. Can take pikes. Often rides a horse as well. You want tons of these guys.
Any ranged = At least 20-30% of your total force should be ranged. Little shock effet (aka taking flags) but very good for high k/d ratios.
Cav = Is needed on public open maps to disrupt enemy melee force.

Concerning two-handers:
The very good two-handers out there are still very good. But it is very hard to be a mediocre twohander in strat. They don't have the same strength.

12/27 shielder. May it be full 1h, or hybrid 1h/polearm

Armor in strat isn't as good, so you'll do fine with a lower tier weapon.
What's more, you'll be perfect to hunt down groups of archer flankers, since you'll probably outrun the 18/21 basic rusbow archer, even with a shield.
A group of 4-5 of thoses, flanking, is perfect. The key is movement, and immunity to range. Mean 2h come towards you ? Flee, or gank them 1 by 1. A group of archers ? Divide yourself, each get his archers, easy. A group of cav ? Hope there's one in your group with a polearm, or a high hill where to stay, else indeed, you're in a bad position. But cav in start is rare and expensive.
