What is the max cost of equipment if you want to make money? And what is maximum for breaking even?
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

Your looms are more expensive according to your character page, which isn't the case upkeep wise. I have 39857 gold equipment and I still make money.

I know that. But, on my Alt, I use no looms and my equip is worth around 30k. Still, quite often I actually lose money with that, and making money is very slow. So, I was wondering if anyone has any specific information. I remember someone posted that you will be making money if you have less than 50k, but that doesn't feel true anymore.

47K is the new 50K. Over the extremely long run you will break even (assuming normal wpf for your weapon).

I make money with my polearm character at 43K but it is pretty slow, only a few K a session.

I say 20K or less and you will be making appreciable money. My main uses about 11K and he gets money hand over fist. Anything 30K or higher is too slow to actually make cash for a quick purchase.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

It depends. Chance to break is counted separately for each slot. So more slots taken - bigger chance to break. In the end if you have one slot with item for 30k and the rest with cheap ones you ll pay less for upkeep than guy with 8 items for 4k.

when people look at their equipment price, do they look at that thing next to the equipment that says "equipment value: XXX"?

i do not know of some calculation of how much equipment cost compared to ticks but to be honest its just something yo pick up from what you wear. you will notice the difference in cash flow if you wear certain suits consistantly for certain amounts of time.but you also have to account for your multiplier.i generally just wear something sorta light like black lemaller for example

(but then again that is the lightest equipment for infantry in my clans uniform sooo it might not be the best choice its merely part of my uniform)

Use the non heirloomed price of your gear to get your actual upkeep gear price. MW things are listed as almost double as expensive as non loomed, loomed items use the non loomed price when it comes to upkeep.

I'm using a set costing almost exactly 20K and I'm able to earn roughly 4K per hour of playing. So if you ask me, that 20k limit is a good line if you want to make a quick buck.

Hm, 4k per hour for using 20k equipment. So it would roughly take around 105-110 hrs playing like this in order to make enough profit for one loom point.
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!
