What about couched lance breaking?

It's just ridiculous, people constantly couching person after person and you have no chance against it.

You can't block it
You can hardly dodge it
Most shields break after one couch at full speed
Usually you die after one couch


Why not implementing something like a couched lance breaks or has a certain chance to break?
There is a single player mod, 1257 aD, where lances break usually after a couch.


And dear devs, cav really needs a nerf.
All the bumping and couching is worse than ever before, please do anything against it :/

Couching is ridiculously underpowered. It can only kill people with zero awareness and skill. I am not playing cavalryman with a couched lance. Please buff couched.

Couching and cavalry is fine, you get caught out by a couch its just a lack of awareness... Cavalry are now slower and less manoeuvrable than ever before and also unless you have riding 6 you cannot ride a decent horse light horse (heavy horses are great tanks but too slow to be a real danger).

Cavalry has been nerfed almost every patch since January (some  of them were pretty huge nerfs e.g. lanc angle) and still we see people blaming the nerfed class rather than themselves.

Then you just suck or have zero athletics build with heavy armor. Dodging couched is one of the most easiest things to do in the game. Also in bad situations you can always just get yourself trampled instead of couched.

Yeah if you chose to take 20 PS and 2 ATH it's pretty hard to dodge, that's the tradeoff. If you did choose to put points into the stats that give mobility then your issue is awareness.

Yes I am an archer with little athletics and the only fucking thing I have to defend myself is a hammer against a couched lance

Ah ah ah ah ah ! Nice joke.
Most of the horseman are just killhungry, no way they'll spare anyone's life. Even more if it's an archer that can shoot down it's horse.

Back to topic, even the Gk will be amazed by my answer, but... i don't think couching needs any kind of nerf. Sure, there's some really good cav who are able to couch an aware person two second after starting couching, on a hill. But that's just skill. If you start about the "breaking" realism argument, then every weapon will also break after blocking several times, and this will really ruin the gameplay experience.

On another note, i still feel cav being slightly overpowered, thanks to the bumping, but at the moment, i'm more concerned about thoses damn ranged. So be happy Gk, i'll leave the "anti-cav lobbyism" for a while. See you on the battlefield. ;)
