As the Second Age of Strategus begins, the village of Zagush has been acquired by the Holy Roman Empire, a group of loyal and mighty warriors who are deserving of many lands to call their own. Yet A new Village_Elder, The sixth of his mighty and glorious line, has teamed up as a councilor and servant of the Fallen Lord Warcat, son of the great veteran warrior of the first age who fought valiantly in many battles of the First Age. As they travel the steppe in war, doing what can be done to ensure the dominance of The Fallen Brigade, they still remember back to their childhood and long to return to the land that they have always known as home. Only time will tell of the fate of Zagush, perhaps someday the Holy Roman Empire will move on to gain further glory and newer lands, then it may be that Village_Elder returns triumphantly alongside his master. On that day there will many festivities and celebratory prisoner executions, and then all enemies of the Fallen Brigade will cower in fear, knowing that the jewel of the steppe has returned to achieve glory the likes of which have yet to be seen in Calradia!

Village_Elder: The patriarch of his line. Threw with 9 power throw and learned to kill the heaviest armored knights with one lance, even to their feet.

Village_Elder_: The second generation who took a different approach to war. Could outrun the fastest men and could throw stones with accuracy and speed greater than previously believed possible.

Village_Elder_III: In his first battle he slew a man with a stone. He wore his thick robe with pride and eventually achieved great skill with throwing lances. In his retirement he redesigned his lances to be heavier so that his son may prosper with them.

I made 317 million denars by selling 3 sea raiders to Ramun
Also some of the doors in cities and castles go to weird places. Often the dungeon, however one castle door took me the castle arena, which was just a big open field
Also once I used my absurdly large amount of money to start my own kingdom I lost the ability to recruit in cities. My city Abdera has 56 available recruits but it doesn't show and available units.

The Order of the Staff

                             
First of all, this is not a clan, so any "tags" are most unneccesary.

This is a guild that offers a purpose to those stafflovers of cRPG. The guild is absolutely open to everyone who meets the requrements of the code.
Joining the guild is quite easy and all you have to do is PM  me or ANY of the members or post to thread to set you straight going.

For person to be one with staff, these are the ranks and requirements.

*= Final commitment is the trial that one must complete to achieve the most valued title of a staffmaster. The commitment is known as the sacrifice of hair. In other words, you must become atleast partly bald.

I remember when you first started the staffmen group. Just after you were dominating with Khan-something and the two handed sabre aka miadao, which was right after you dominated with strange sword aka katana.

Back in march 2010, when i started this game (on the 22nd server) i was completely drawn in by the magic. The big fields with two opposing armies facing off in fight of biblical proportions. Most people were decked in misc gear and there were almost zero knights, horses were rare, few snipers (1-2), some range and a massive amount of melee players. There were debates about the best skill-route, armors, players etc.

Then drama ensued and cRPG changed,

Now instead of the 222 slot server the 22nd clan provided, we had a small 60 slot server ( got upgraded fast tho). Maps changed from open fields to more infantry friendly. Gold & experience gain was slow, and there was a soft-cap to level. Some started to power-level and in a few days/weeks more knights emerged. Medium armor became the norm. The game was still awesome fun, and there was a much larger quantity of melee players as opposed to ranged & cavalry. People were still unsure about the class-routes as there was quite a bit of math behind it all.

Then some shitkid decided to ddos cRPG, which resulted in a database-wipe.

chadz improved much in cRPG, but the players had gone from casuals to power-gamers. Ill admit i was once counted among them, playing for hours upon hours, caught in the mindless hunt for the next level and new armor.

Now everyone was looking to maximize their exp & gold gain. After a few days some people had heavy armor (which had earlier been reserved for a few dedicated gamers, among them BNCshrek, the first to reach black-armor). A week passed, and just like that, heavy armor was now the norm. But it did not stop there; horses, xbows and archers emerged in massive numbers.

Now a few months laters, there are hardly any people not following one of the cookie-cutter builds. Maps has changed to cater for increasing population of cavalry & range. It has been days, if not weeks since i last played a battle on a map that favored infantry. 

Q: What does the above text have to do with the current siege phenomena?

Nothing and everything. 

You see, in this gaming era everyone feels entitled to be the hero. No one will settle for the side-kick. In the start people were more relaxed towards this game, but as it became more and more popular, the min-maxing started. Now we have a influx of range & mounted players, in addition to the tin-cans. You can no longer play the game as you see fit, if you intend to make a name for yourself (there are of-course exceptions to every rule). Even skilled Mount & blade vets are using the most overpowered armors and weapons, even in duels. After some of the custom made weapon & armors made it into this mod, the old weapons have seen little to no use. Tears are a perfect example of this; It got range, speed and damage, why would anyone use anything else? AFAIK the ninja clan is the only clan still using some form of equipment code for their members. Im happy with my choice of being a ninja, but sometimes, when i lose to worse players because everyone else is using the most ridiculous weapons & armors,  i get frustrated.

Thrown into this mix of crazed power-gamers are the casuals and the people refusing to play the min-max game. After dying repeatably to projectiles and horse-bumps for months now, i think people have finally found a sanctuary, still somewhat untouched by the taint thats plaguing the rest of the game. Its so relaxing not to be forced to spin 360 degrees all the time, to look for incoming cavs in additional to dodging arrows. And even if you get shot to pieces, you only have to wait a maximum of 30 seconds before you are up and running again.

I have no clue what future lays ahead of cRPG..

Only chadz and a handful of people really have a clue on how the future cRPG will look like. I doubt the players mentality will change for the better, min-maxing is here to stay. However steps can be taken to ensure a fair and fun game for everyone.

Back then in the old days and still today the Wolpertingers are a topic surrounded by mystery. It is said that they were first formed by the King of a lesser kingdom as his personal spies or special guard. First without a name, the denizens of the kingdom called them after the fabled animal cause sometime people would claim to have seen one of them, but no one ever could prove their existence.
Another version of the story gives them the role of the loyal friends of a young nobleman who was betrayed by his uncle and lost his heritage. Seeking revenge the young lord and his followers would take as their banner the former mentioned mythical creature to indicate that they would never be found while they prepared an armed rebellion.

Oddly the most reliable sources suggest a totally different origin. It is rumored that the first encounter of the initial members of the band happened to be in the dark woods in the north. Each one of them seeking for an old man who was said to be the only man alive who had seen a Wolpertinger. Whatever their motive to find this animal might have been is unknown, as well as the words of the old man. Legend has it that they found the old man and spoke to him and that soon afterwards they left, he died. For the period of a few months, nothing can be said about the people who left him. When they next were seen, they had taken on the Colours of the Wolpertinger and wandered on separate ways until the finally met up in the little village called Amashke. In the Year of the horny flying Rabbit many a brave man donned the colours of the Wolpertinger. All over the contry a stirring tale spread in taverns and fields, that a young hunter had seen pirates joining the ranks of the Wolpertingers. This led to heated debates among the common folk. There were those who claimed that the pirates where converted to the noble cause of the Wolpers and there were those who doubted that their cause was all that noble. The troup experienced a notable reinforcement when they encountered a group of fighters whose battle cry was Death or Glory. After a major battle both groups met on the smoking ground of the battlefield looking for ...ahh... recyclable goods. After sharing barrels of beer as well as old war stories, four more men joined the quest of the Wolpertinger.

Clouded as their history is, their is a report about an incident at a crossroad near a habby little town without a name. Growing in their numbers after months of traveling together as a band, the Wolpertingers rested near the town, when a mounted courier entered their camp to bring a call for help from the land's lord for an upcoming battle. Some fighters left the band to gain Death or Glory alongside the lord's small army in the unbalanced battle, but most of the group stayed to initiate two new warriors in the mysterious quest of their search.

Somewhen in the autumn fo the same year, the group was travelling in the North when they came through a small valley where a battle had just ended. A single figure was left standing, covered in blood. It was that time when another Named Man joined the band.

Though they get into contact to people quite often nowadays, still nobody outside their group knows about their real backgrounds or where they're headed. They only known facts is, that because of their banner and their constant movement in the lands of Calradia, they became known as The Roaming Wolpertingers.
There seems to be no special way to get into the group, as well as no special qualification. Their fighting style is various, their tactics seem muddled though they never leave a man behind.
Fighting as swords for hire or attacking caravans and merchants in times of need, they pick up merry companions of all nations on the battlefields.
