Red Turret Hat does not spawn

So up until now I thought that the Red Turret Hat was a weird invisible model, it's the hat that Dogtanian wears and he's been running around hatless on my PC since a couple of big patches ago now. But after using a weapon rack to, the hat suddenly appears. So the model's okay, but for some reason I'm not spawning with it equipped, even though it's selected on my character's default equipment page and I have it chosen at the beginning of each round.

What is this bug? Am I wearing an invisible hat that only becomes visible after using a weapon rack, or am I spawning hatless?

Lol, is Dogtanian a male character? Men can't wear women's hats 
And if Dogtanian is a male character, but can spawn himself a women's hat by using a weapon rack, you've just accidently reported another bug.

It's the closest damned thing I could find to Dogtanian's hat from the cartoon series.

If they're getting rid of it, at least can they put in a cavalier's hat to replace it? Please?

I don't think that will happen, since we're on pre-gunpowder era

I'm hoping that they're not that picky. It's only a hat. If they could just make the Turret Hat unisex like a Conical Helm or a Felt Hat then that'd work, and it's an easy fix.
