No, not all, the point is you cannot make any alt char your main, you have to delete your main and then create new one, which can become main, but not an alt. I do not think you need to delete all chars.

For now this is not possible, dunno if it ever will be.

Your best option is to just respec your main. If the problem is the name than use the namechange OR change name right after you retired.
