Oooooh this is close!

but i just have to agree, its a great feature. when your against 3 people, theres actually a chance now. also adds to some teamwork stuff, and smarter formations

I'm loving it too.

Your surroundings actually matter. Walls, stairs and other objects actually give cover, especially against the longer weapons. Also, shorter weapons are much more viable, especially in cramped situations.

Last night i was fighting several opponents whilst standing under a balcony. I had a wall on my right side and a pillar on my left. I kept stepping around that pillar, effectively reducing the enemies swing options to stab and overhead, unless they were using very short weapons.

Also, when facing multiple opponents, the new swing settings are awesome. Stepping in between enemies and trying to make them teamhit eachother is much easier now.

I like it a lot!  :D

My only issue is that when I'm going 2v1 against somebody with a pike that the pike sometimes hits my teammate at the beginning of the swing (or, rather. the hitbox of the pike glances them, half the time, the head of the pike is nowhere near the enemy.) However, that's mostly just a matter of me getting used to the change and adjusting when needed. I like the change for the most part, it makes playing polearm with stuff like Long Axes and the ilk a little harder in close combat, and makes it just a little more rewarding to me when I somehow bean a guy over the head with a blade that's about as thick as his lower arm and the length of his leg.

i freaking love it

         Im a disciplined fighter and i rarely TK  , also i just love when 4-5 people going for me they start swinging like crazy and i dance around them and they slaughter their own team :D

  Also i started to use the walls\obstacles to my advantage versus thoses bigs long clumsy 2hands , and it work well , no more sideswings that goes thru walls and kill me , even overheads are tricky in tight spots :D

Yup! Love it as well. Now you can actually count on what you see -- is that two hander trying to use his left swing while his left side is against a wall? Welp, no need to block, attack!


On the contrary, skill is also knowing when and where to place your hits, taking environment and teammates into account.

And this. It's awesome how much more tactics matter now. Huge weapons aren't the best for defending gatehouses like they shouldn't be etc, and Phaz gave a good example as well.

Of course, Cmp stabbing me in the back continuously is one downside of this patch, but I think he does it on purpose...  :mad:

Great feature! This ends the sideswing gang and its perfect cuz now u can make enemies hit each other easier.

It kinda broke the skill in this game, it generally became more random. Good players always did good before, but now their teammates get them killed. I am starting to avoid my teammates, cause the teamhitting is really bad. Thought this game was about teamwork.

Never before have I agreed more to what you have said.

Team that gangbangs better wins.

Harder to avoid TK'ing?
Easy solution.  Don't.  Just TK like fucking mad until your teammates learn to give you space.  Stop caring about how many TK's you get and you'll have more fun again I assure you.  Huey would back me up on this as well.
And I should be nice or polite to anyone.... why exactly?

You guys ever thought about that people are adjusted to the old system and will most likely learn how to use the new one? It's not like animations or stuff were accurate in the past. You just need to get the feeling. And it's way better now already than it was days ago.

I think it's a pretty good change. My only problems are certain roofs seem to block everything but overhead attacks, and  that when using a pike I can hit someone standing next to me(in line with me shield-wall style) on my right side with what I guess is my hands.

Might have been a bit too much.

Often times it happens to me that i swing my weapon from left to right or right to left and my weapon gets stuck into an enemy or ally, even though that enemy or ally is not next or in front of me but behind me.
