I'd like to be an official, and I'm withdrawing earthdforce unless you need him.

Can RageThrower be a part of the Champion's Tournament as well please? :D

Then I misunderstand exactly what the arena tourney is, why would you 1v1 someone on foot with a sumpter and only a practice lance?

Then don't. The tourney is to be comprised of basic weaponry... You can still use the large practice sword / staff / small practice sword / basic bow from horseback. I worry that the bow may be OP, since there are no practice arrows and it deals alot of damage.
If you want to fight with horses go to the "Continental Joust"

Then will the archers just have the practice dagger? So if an archer was put up against, say, a shielder, he would have no chance at all!

1. You may use any weapon combination.
2. Did you really just say that? Shielders are designed to beat archers.

Bull for the Jousting Tournament.

To clarify: The European players mentioned that killing the horse disqualifies you from the joust. You must get a clean kill on the rider, or, to be a total boss, kill both horse and rider on the same pass.

I'd like to suggest the clean-kill rule, as it makes it a bit trickier and more skill-based (in my opinion), and I am an active member of PETA and revile the killing of an innocent horse . But, of course, I defer to the wisdom of the tourney officiants.

(I don't support PETA, actually, that was just a troll comment)

Clean kill for the Joust will be implemented.

Regarding the Arena Tourney, the sumpter is basically just there if someone wants to screw around on the horse.

I will be implementing a turn and run five second (or ten second, depending on the general consensus) rule for the Shootout, but this won't be the case for all the other tournaments, so melee has a good chance of running straight up to the archer and bonking him till he's dead.

Huh. Best of five seems exceedingly short. It takes about two duels to accurately feel out an opponent. That brings it to pretty much best of three, during which time you can employ at most three fighting styles, if you're feeling stupid. Realistically, best of five plays out like: Try spamming. Die twice. Try facehugging. You lose, GF.

It should be best (five) of nine at the least. Best of 13 would be better. I mean, first to three is okay for round robins, but any DE should be higher.

Anyway,

SingingInTheRain, CavalryPractice
Deafening
Champions, Arena, Joust

Rain for the first two, Practice for joust

I think a crucial factor of any fight is how quickly you can size your opponent up, which is why it's best of five. However, if general opinions differ, I don't see why we can't turn the number of rounds up.

What happens if someone runs out of ammo, or if it's a thrower versus another thrower?

Ah, figured the reasoning went something like that. Which, I'll say again, is fine for round robins*. But, as I know you're well aware, high-level dueling isn't about who clicks the buttons the fastest or most consistently--it's the player's tactics that win. And basically, with only three kills to win, that quality has little chance to shine. An actually-realistic example of a first-to-three match: You block, stupidly feint your first strike, opponent spams, you die. You attack, opponent chambers, you die. You have no idea if it was intentional, so you adapt an anti-chamber style. Opponent spams into your anti-chamber holds, you die. GF.

Yeah, unlikely to happen, but two luck kills/deaths isn't unthinkable. Then again... Huh. I just remembered, people don't die in one hit. Hmm. I'm too used to Native dueling conventions/wearing a dress. Right-o, disregard anything I've said until I test dueling with armor.

* Also realized I'm assuming the Champions tournament has robins, followed by DEs. Which is probably wrong -- kind of used to fencing conventions also. I need to find something to eat

Shootout, Arena, Champions
I would like to make a request for not allowing plated charger and throwing lances. If its not granted ill still fight though   :D

I also request the allowence of normal darts for arena tourney

Also you should make this a tourney group on steam. It will make organization much easier.  Add me at kolyskoa for steam.
