When there was no Proper Duel Server Setting, both people had to face each other blocking up to accept a duel.If you killed someone without doing that = Ban.
Maybe it woud be better for me to find out where you life and kill you when you are satch a Soziopath. You have enough now.

I remember playing Native a looong time ago, after the beta though. There were 2 guys that fought eachother for about 30 seconds. Everyone was amazed at their blocking skills. I remember typing something along the lines of 'What the hell, thats amazing'. I wish I could go back to those times with my current skill. I would rape.

It is an evolution from the "High Five" and a sort of bowing if you would. A High Five is commonly when two friends in a duel or team mates on Battle spawn, then turn to each other, person A up blocks and person B overheads, then reverse.

Careful though, this is something only apparent on the NA servers, and as an EU player I've tried getting slashed accidentally.

And you are a bit off Tears.

Just giving how it was presented to me when I asked, not surprised that it is a bit off.

People should know by now not to trust anything I say anyways on these forums. My custom title is not for show...
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.

Back when Duel servers were just deathmatch servers, and one nut with a horse could cause mayhem.
You think you're pretty smart with your dago mustache and your greasy hair.

within battle it is used as far as i can tell to confirm that someone tries to stay with you after round start.
You look around to those in your faction or for friends, if you see them, you greet them, sometimes together with a jump afterwards, to sort of synchronize :)
There then you have someone who will help you in the coming fight ... perhaps.

EDIT: and yes the highfive is rarely used on EU Servers

well the OP was about the duel server but i did always wonder what it was for in some situations in siege/battle servers

it's also used as a "sorry" for team hitting someone isnt it?

People still "up block" when they want to duel.  I guess its part of the culture now.

Also, it can be used as a "salute" of sorts.  When I see my friend in game I upblock him.  Or, if someone saves my ass, I will up block (or get an upblock) like a "thanks, buddy".
