A no-cav server? (poll inside)

ok i'm in a poll franzy and as I see a lot of cavphobia i just wanted to see if a non-cav server (like the non-range server) will interest some people (ps i cannot make a server but if a lot of people want that maybe a clan will put one up)

so how to vote: you put yes or no and then you put your class so we can know who voted (exemple 100 voters but all cav will make result somewhat inaffective)

so let's poll that !

No way. Think of how dominating the archers would be! They're already waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to OP, so imagine how it would be if there was nothing to counter or threaten them. What we need is a melee only server with no ranged and no cav

maybe an all-time no-cav server is too extrem but it could be a special server with like week-end without cav (like the no-range week-end on the tunatown server)

I was just wondering why no-one ever made that kind of server, with all the rage on cav i'm pretty sure it will be a good place!

I would like to try this, and i think you can simply counter archers with shields, or counter ranged with ranged.

maybe one server could make a day trial (like a sunday without cav) just to try out and see if people love that

melee only servers get really boring without ranged cuz it just turn into a contest of WHO HAS THE BIGGEST CLUSTERFUCK OF INFANTRY

This would require heavy admin supervision. There is an option in the admin panel to disable range, but no option to disable horses.

Can never understand people's problem with cav. The best weapon against cav is awareness.

If anything though, we could just use a better autobalance.

i want to fucking chill without worrying about having a stick jammed into my ass from behind at 30 mph


fighting melee is a dynamic experience and sometimes a direct competition of skill
fighting archers makes me make wise decisions as to where i go and what i do
fighting cav makes me press ` every 5 seconds


if you die in melee its your fault for engaging a larger force instead of running
when u die to archers its your fault you moved in too close while they were completely aware of your position
when you die to cav its your fault because you were doing anything else but looking for cav

actually what you said about archers is true with cav. cav cannot reach all spots and even more spots are difficult for them to reach. Stick to those spots and your chance of cavdeath is lowered considerably.

While your at it, put up a server with no combat at all. So we can all stand around and have picnics.

Will solve all the complaints about any build they dont like cos they get killed by them...

Just lean to keep a note of your surroundings and react to what happens to you. People always use tunnel vision describing archers but I see it much more in infantry. It's like my horse comes with a cloaking device sometimes. As a cav I find it very hard to attack someone with mediocre skill who knows I'm there. A jump is the most effective weapon against cav, seriously.

I really dont see why there shouldnt be a no cav server, as mentioned above i hate having to look around all the time when all i want to do is slice some peasants.
