I am one of the last of a dying breed, a remnant of a glorious race, the best and worst of my kind, I am a Jav Cav...

But seriously why does no one play this build? :P its great fun and is a nice counter to lancers if you can master it (which I havnt done :P), so I wanna see more javalry because I know there are loads of people that could really make this class work, while I lack the general base skills to be anything more than mediocre :D

It's a nice flexible build with javelins, throwing spears or jarids where you can run down archers and light inf, while being able to take down lancers and HA and the occassional pike.

Try this build, I dare you :P

Although it probably doesn't fit your RP, try the throwing axes and their magic onboard accuracy enhancement system

SR Kophka careens around the servers as javalry as well. He does well with it. I'm experimenting with riding before I go out and try to throw shit from horseback.

The last time I did riding was back before the January patch

Javelin Cav!

That is like the mounted mounted Akritae of the Eastern Roman Empire, so cool.
With the latest gear, I was thinking of respecing one of my alts into a cav anyways, might do this since it does look like fun (even though I only know 3 people who are doing it), or a Scholarii type instead maybe...
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

I've actually seen 3 throwing cav since yesterday , not counting myself, on the NA servers.  Kophka topped the scoreboard with it for a while, though he did also get a lot of kills with his 1h sword.

Sidenote, I prefer throwing spears, because 4 is better than 3.

Maybe I'll role an alt to do this again. Or maybe I'll role one on my main on a journey towards loomed Heavy Board and Long Dagger, except using only firebombs.

For someone who plays WoT so much, Kophka does a spectacular job at destroying in MnB

I have 5 power throw and 144 wpf in throwing by lvl 30 (that includes 100 in polearms for my war spear) it means you can reach riding and wm 7 with a 15 / 21 build.

Although it probably doesn't fit your RP, try the throwing axes and their magic onboard accuracy enhancement system

It's a good suggestion but sadly I cant bear to split from my masterwork javelins :P

Saw another two today.  I think its picking up again.

On an alternate note, anyone looking into the class: Horse Archery helps.

Saw one today, nearly killed me with one throw. Seems pretty viable especially if you hunt down other cav

Is it really viable or more like a troll/fun alt build? I always wanted to try out but never dared cuz of throwing weapons upkeep + horse upkeep would prolly dry me up!  :?

One time I tried and I found it really hard to hit something if I was not (completly or almost) stopped so I raged and re-spec'd lol

Lorenzo's build is jav/lancer. Switching between his war spear and a lance depending.

He's out at the moment so I'll try and answer. It takes a fair bit of practice. If you can hit lighter armoured foes, the damage with the speed bonus can be quite significant. I know I've been 1 shot of my horse by him in the past. There is also the horrendous satisfaction of watching Lorenzo get a good head shot on someone. To do it really well is difficult, like any ranged on horseback it requires considerable judgement of range, your speed, enemies speed, angle and all other factors. And often the javs don't kill...merely wound. But that wounding sets you up for a lance/war spear stab that will likely kill you

From watching, Lorenzo often uses the javs to down cav, which I think might be easier than aiming for inf. But he does get some good kills on inf. If his horse gets downed, he uses the warspear with no shield and is decent at blocking ect enough to do damage with it.

The upkeep isn't so bad. I know Lorenzo uses an Arabian (switched to a rouncey atm for the lols, he can ride an Arabian btw despite the riding req). He did sell an heirloom point, but as far as I'm aware the upkeep isn't any worse than most cav builds.

I've always been tempted to make a build of it in the past. But I love my HA to much to switch for a gen  :)
