I don't feel like archery has gotten nerfed at all, I can see the rape they inflict on the fellow polearmers and 2h'ers on the battlefield :S poor buggers.

i used bow and arrow quite a bit in the past, i had enough trouble hitting a target normally, let alone jumping through the air.

Yup.  Guns are ez mode hunting imo.  Or bitch mode, depending on how condensending you want to be about it.  Ideally we would get our kills with nothing more than a knife but sadly when it comes down to it:

1:  Even the fastest of us don't run very fast at all compared to even the most feeble of animals we might hunt (deer, elk, moose, bear, etc)
2:  Humans are fucking pathetic in the physical strength department compared to even the most feeble of animals we might hunt.  Unless we go after sickly newborns that have no speed or strength yet.  Which would still be bitch mode.

So bow hunting it is then.  Practicing with a sling bow at the river for fishing but I would like to bag a buck with a sling bow sometime soon.

Cool stuff man, colleague from work was hunting with some composite bows or something, like they went to forrest and could not be seen, had to feed themselves and such Only experience i do have is from some fairs trying out shooting from various bows and such, and one friend of mine is bowmaker, so i was testing them with him, and god, some of the wood is really very, very demanding in the terms of strength to pull it out... i was amazed how tired i got after like 20 shots from a bow that was about same length as i am tall

the only truly manly way to hunt is with bare hands and teeth, maybe a small knife.
Anything else is for pussies who are afraid of bears (and also ezmode).
If you need to chase an animal you have failed, sneaking up on them is how you do it. Or you can chase them over a cliff and eat the splattered remains.
