2h help
« on: September 17, 2011, 02:24:31 pm »

Since the recent cavalry nerf I want to change to 2hander once I retire. I just want to ask on some help about 2handers, like what weapons I should use (which one I should loom also), equipment I should wear like armour or some good builds which I could use. How much PS would be enough aswell.

Thanks.

More STR than AGI
Tons of PS and IF.
Plate and any Greatsword.

Then its just a matter of lolstabbing or overhead miss/turning your way to greatness.

This may sound like a troll post but its pretty accurate.  2H is by far one of the most effective and powerful classes, with probably the easiest "curve" to learn.

5 PS is effective, anything less isn't. 21-18 is a good starting build. Danish/German greatsword are the best. Oh, and don't go for plate. Go for armors between 14-19 weight.

I would go 6 PS or higher, 5 is kinda weak unless you're using a pierce or blunt weapon.

Then again I don't mind being kinda on the slow side so it's definitely got a lot to do with preference & play style.

21/18
18/21
18/18 (extra skill points for something else)
21/15 (same as above)
24/15 (slower more tank build, still effective but you probably won't be winning any foot races.)
15/24 (use a blunt weapon or pierce, and with 8 athletics the shorter range & slower speed of the weapon will be less noticeable and easier to deal with, blunt with knockdown is especially dirty with a build like this. PS: you will win foot races but you drop pretty easy after a few hits.. IF they can hit you.)

The more STR and health you have the more staying and stopping power, the more AGI, the easier it is to pick and choose your fights. Faster players aren't usually forced into engaging except by their own terms.

I agree with Xant on weapons and armors, you don't want to be too weighed down by armor, especially if you're using a lower athletics build & the Danish/German can cover a wide variety of niches on the battle field. For a lower strength build, like 15 str or 18 str it's nice to have a blunt weapon to deal with tanks but the great sword's stabs work well too so it isn't 100% necessary.

Good luck hope my wall of text was slightly helpful.

Possible builds at 31 are also 18/24 and 24/18.

My personal favorite is 18/24, great versatility.

Thanks guys.

What about the specific skills? What skills are most important and how many points in them? Like how many IF, WM, ATH?

It actually depends on your play style.

Either grab a build like those 24/18 or 18/24 with no IF and be a "glass canon" cause even a sneeze will take you down fast.

Or get medium to almost heavy gear (till 19 p.e.) and a build like 24/15 (i use this atm) which leaves you with enough skill points to get Iron Flesh (5), meaning not going down with 1 hit from a lancer and not dying so fast with 80% ranged servers, and more than enough athletics/wpf since ranged can't shoot jump anymore (hihi), with less chances to glance on the enemies with swings (cut damage lol) from the PS 8, which hurts a lot.

Cheers

Always have maxed Athletics and PS. Apart from that, you want to have as much IF and WM as possible, but they're not that important.
