random thought on strat

Something I was thinking about to give another dynamic on the strat map was hostages and ransom.

For example. I lead the army and attack someone on the map. We lose. have a percentage chance that I get captured.
My army can be transfered but I can not move on map for set number of days/can not participate in strat battles till free. Faction who captured me can ransom me back to my clan. Trade for gold/items/troops etc or even a prisoner swap if we have one of theirs or someone they want.

This would add some fun for the clans without fiefs.. they can attack and try and make money/even fiefs by capturing prominent members of other factions at critical points in a war.
 It would make clans use more of their members for attacking/defending instead of 5 people gathering everyones money troops and doing everything. It would also make the delaying tactics and attack/retreat used in last strat a little more dangerous. Make a set number of days you can stay captured for. 1-5 or something. 1 day might be to short no one would pay a ransom.. 5 would likely be to long. so maybe 2-3 would be entertaining.

Would either need the persons troops/equipment to default to someone else in the clan maybe one of the lvl 10s... or go to nearest clan member.

Def not a fully fleshed out thought. I think it would be an interesting addition... How fun would it be to capture someone on the map you do not care for that much and laugh as his clan says they are not worth the 1000 straw hat ranson you are demanding! Or refuse all their attempts at payment and force that person out of the game for a set number of days.

I personally don't like it as I want to participate in a bunch of fights whether or not I know they will lose, and I don't want to be kept outta a fight just because I'm captured.

Or, you could have a fight 1 day helping out a ally - they lose - then you get captured and can't participate in your own clan's siege/battle.

I did not think about capturing mercs who sign up. If you made it like a 2-5% thing the risk would not be great but it would add a little risk to signing up for battles and make you earn the money you request. Right now no risk at all. Make the person leading the army on both sides have a higher percentage to be captured. 5-8% maybe. I do not want it an all the time thing but it would be a fun factor to add a little spice to things.

I don't think mercs should be capturable. But the one attacking and the one defending should be!
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

Capturing players will eventualy kill the game.

It's pretty easy to understand, Big faction will capture and hold forever best players of their ennemy.

Result: they won't be able to play strat again ---> rage quit.

did you bother reading what I wrote. a 3-8% chance to be captured when you lose or retreat from battle. The capture is a set period of time. Can also add in a dynamic that is say I cature someone and I get attacked and lose all my captives are freed.

Make a set number of days you can stay captured for. 1-5 or something.
I don't see how these things could go together, last I checked 5 days is not forever.

I like the idea once it's tested and the best numbers to use are worked out.

If he is killed he gets teleported or if he is ransomed he stays in place until it is paid(put a limit on how long like 8-10 hrs) or time runs out and he is released( attacker gains an amount of the captured mans gold like 10 percent).

Edit(there would have to be a cool down time for the guy who was captured so he cant be attacked again for 10 hrs so people cant lock a man down)
